Meet Joshpele Magic

We recently connected with Joshpele Magic and have shared our conversation below.

JoshPele, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

I think it stems from an intrinsic feeling in myself that constantly reminds me I have the potential to do more. I feel that drives me to always strive for more and push the boundaries of what is deemed possible and impossible.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My name is JoshPele Magic I am a Celebrity Magician and Mentalist. My journey is quite an unorthodox one as I got into my craft when I was on a trip to Milan Italy. During my trip I created a card trick but with no magic interests or background at the time, I had one question. Does it work? to answer this I went around the streets of Italy performing for people passing by and was pleasantly surprised to see the ecstatic and energic reactions from the crowd. When I returned to the states i instantly was hooked. I began performing small local shows and grew into the niche of Celebrities, Nightclubs, Music festivals and parties. I currently am blessed to have opportunities of interacting and blowing the minds of countless A list celebrities week in and week out and I can certainly tell you that it never gets old. Seeing the excitement and pure joy I am able to instill in my audience is a feeling like no other. I love creating and being the one to create shows that were deemed impossible they did not think some of the shows i did were possible until i did them such as runways for swim weeks and fashion weeks, red carpet events in Hollywood, nightclubs, you name it. If there’s a challenge I find a way and I love doing it.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

this is a very good question. I would say that if i had to name just three qualities then they would be Persistence, Determination, and Conviction. The roads are not easy and the doors are not always open but it is up to you to create those paths and unlock those rooms. The persistence is crucial because nothing will ever hit on the first try for majority of cases and as a result you need to be consistency pushing. That is easier said than done and there will be many occasions where you may not feel like it and that is where the Determination will kick in. if you really want something then you should be determined enough to go after it and not holdback. In most cases you need a relentless pursuit to achieve your goals and your determination will dictate how bad you really want it.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

There are many books that have shaped who i am today and continue to shape me into the man I am becoming. Thinkin Fast and Slow is a fantastic read and I would go as far as to say that it is my favorite book. The book is written by two cognitive psychologist’s whose work was so ground breaking that it earned them a Nobel prize in economics. They cover a lot of biases and human behavior but the main way to sum it up is they split the mind into two systems and thoroughly examine the distinctions and different functions of each as we make choices in our lives. The systems are best split by our intuition and the other being slow thinking. Throughout the book there are countless cases which prove that how we feel we ourselves would respond in certain scenarios does not align with what actually occurs. I think this is a fantastic read and very insightful.
