Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Joshua Bredl. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Joshua, so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?
Because of my ability to love deeply, perhaps deepest. Love involves risk, vulnerability and highlighting the imperfect, love involves INTIMACY, care and understanding. To honor love you must honor yourself and to show up in that sacred space as the realest version of yourself. Being the most authentic variant of you is how you celebrate love and that’s how you celebrate it for lifetimes. This breeds energy that is joyous – grateful & genuine.
To risk is to love.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am the co-founder of Root Strength, but my primary focus now is my acting career. Currently, I am filming “You Lose You Die,” an upcoming horror film that promises to captivate audiences. I’m thrilled about working with Spiff & the incredible cast and crew as well as magic we’re creating together. Additionally, I’m also collaborating on a few projects with Wilhelmina Denver and FordRBA.
Before my sports career took center stage, I had a deep passion for producing, directing, and starring in my own short films during the VHS era. CKY, Jackass & SNL being my main I operation I would source cameras from yard sales and use them to create and tell stories CYK, Jack and SNL It’s incredibly fulfilling to reconnect with one of my childhood passions after decades dedicated to sports.
I’m excited to share these projects with you and invite you to follow this journey as I merge my past and present passions. Stay tuned for more updates on my upcoming work and the exciting developments with Root Strength.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Reflecting on my journey, three qualities have been particularly impactful: adaptability, resilience, and gratitude.
First, my diverse upbringing, balanced between sports, social life, and supportive friendships, equipped me with adaptability. Competing on big stages, from a national championship with CSU-Pueblo to winning Tough Enough Season Six and performing in the WWE, taught me to become comfortable with the uncomfortable. These experiences helped me thrive in various environments and embrace change with confidence.
Second, resilience has been crucial. The numerous losses I’ve faced have strengthened my ability to get back up, recalibrate, and advance. Each setback became a stepping stone, enhancing my perseverance and determination.
Lastly, gratitude has guided my path. Recognizing and appreciating the universe’s guidance, the risks I’ve taken, and the energy reciprocated has been essential. I feel profoundly grateful for the opportunities and support I’ve received.
For those early in their journey, my advice is to embrace challenges and remain adaptable. Learn from every experience, especially the difficult ones, to build resilience. Finally, cultivate a sense of gratitude, acknowledging the support and opportunities around you. These qualities will help you navigate your path with strength and optimism.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
