Joshua, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

You have to let the creative juices flow.

If we stay present in the moment, it is possible to tune into creativity.

Creativity cannot be forced.. and it will strike at any moment.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I’m 27 years old.. from Miami, Florida. Don’t look like it, but I’m physically disabled.

5 days a week: I’m building a community of musicians; managing our school at Guitar Center Hialeah.

We are a brand new store in South Florida. It is HUGE, probably the nicest Guitar Center in the country.

We have enrolled about 200 students, so far.

On my day off, I make YouTube videos for my channel: ‘Straight Out the Box’’.

Reviewing guitars and making killer music.

My first two videos did really well, surprisingly.

The channel became monetized very fast, meaning we get paid for the ads in the videos.

I’m releasing a new song called ‘Beyond the Sadness’.

Sent it off to get mixed. One of my best productions so far.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Follow your passion.

Making lots of mistakes.

Want your success more than you want oxygen.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

Besides buying me a guitar and music lessons..
seriously, having my father present made me who I am.

Not just providing, but actually raising me up to be a decent person.
