Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Joshua with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
Hello, my name is Joshua Harp and I love working hard . I got my work ethic from my grandmother. She introduced to hard work at the young age of 8 years old. My first job was a paper boy . I worked Saturday and Sunday for just 20$ a day. Joining the workforce, so young gave me a work ethic like no other.

Hello world , my name is Joshua Harp and I am an entrepreneur hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio. Growing up in the predominantly black neighborhood of Evanston , I witnessed firsthand the effects of harsh drug laws and the lack of opportunities for entrepreneurship. Motivated by my personal experiences and a passion for cannabis, I embarked on a journey to make a difference. Alongside my sister Ashley Harp, I founded PotHead Genius , a fashion-forward brand that serves as both a statement and a platform to challenge the unjust cannabis laws in the United States.
Pothead Genius aims to shed light on the disparities and damage caused by drug laws in their community. By leveraging the power of fashion, Ashley and I have found a unique way to express their voice and protest against these injustices. They believe that fashion is more than just aesthetics—it’s a way of life, a reflection of one’s identity and values.
Over the past decade, Ashley and I have been dedicated to their mission. Their unwavering commitment has led them to establish the Genis Flower Foundation , a nonprofit organization set to launch in early 2024. Through this foundation, we aim to provide support and assistance to individuals negatively affected by the war on drugs.
My story is one of resilience, advocacy, and using creative means to bring about change. His work with Pothead Genius and the forthcoming Genius Flower Flower Foundation showcases his unwavering passion to uplift his community and fight for justice.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back on my journey, I recognize three qualities that have had a profound impact: networking, ambition, and creativity. In my experience, a combination of these three attributes can guide anyone towards success and personal growth. Networking is essential as it allows for the exchange of knowledge, learning from others, and expanding one’s horizons both personally and professionally. Ambition plays a vital role because believing in oneself is crucial; it sets the foundation for others to believe in you as well. Demonstrating confidence in one’s abilities is essential in any endeavor. Lastly, creativity is key to staying ahead and remaining relevant. Thinking outside the box, honing innovative ideas, and embracing new trends are vital for continuous progress and adapting to changing environments.
In summary, networking, ambition, and creativity have been the three pillars that have significantly contributed to my journey. These qualities have empowered me to forge connections, pursue my goals with determination, and find unique ways to navigate challenges. By embracing these tools, I believe individuals can pave their own paths to success and make a lasting impact in their chosen fields.

One of the most impactful lessons I have learned from my parent, Alicia Smith, is the belief that anything is possible and the importance of self-confidence. Despite being a single mother raising me and my sister, she never allowed her circumstances to hinder her aspirations. With a career in the educational field, she continues to make a positive impact on countless lives. Through her actions and guidance, she instilled in me the values of embracing life, constantly striving for personal growth, and pursuing knowledge as a means of overcoming challenges and adversity.
My mother taught me the significance of avoiding judgment and embracing a broad perspective on the world. Her wisdom encouraged me to be resilient in the face of obstacles and to have unwavering faith in my abilities. She emphasized the power of thinking big and aiming high, reminding me that my potential is limitless.
The profound impact of my mother’s teachings has shaped my character and provided me with the foundation to approach life with determination and confidence. I am grateful for her unwavering support and her belief in my potential.
