Meet Joshua Kanterowitsch

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Joshua Kanterowitsch. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Joshua, so happy to have you with us today and there is so much we want to ask you about. So many of us go through similar pain points throughout our journeys and so hearing about how others developed certain skills or qualities that we are struggling with can be helpful. Along those lines, we’d love to hear from you about how you developed your ability to take risk?

I’ve developed my ability to take risks through many experiences and lessons. One of the best examples comes from motocross riding.

I’ve been riding bikes since I was 8, from professional BMX to motocross, and one of the biggest things I’ve learned is that commitment is essential for success. How does this relate to motocross? When you approach a 90-foot jump you’ve never tried before, your best chance to succeed is to fully commit. If you hesitate for even a split second and ease off the throttle right before the jump, that’s when you’re likely to crash.

Every time I face a new jump I haven’t tried before, regardless of my experience and years of riding, I still feel that same rush of nerves and the fear of risk. But I’ve learned how to manage that fear, commit fully, and land the jump. And with each jump, it becomes a little less intimidating.

This approach to risk-taking is exactly what guided me when I took the leap to start Pacific Pro Roofing. Starting the business was a big decision and came with many unknowns, but I knew that to succeed, I had to fully commit, push through any doubt, and keep moving forward. Taking risks is always scary, whether it’s in motocross or business, but it’s the only way to truly succeed in life.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

In addition to riding motocross on the weekends, my everyday passion is roofing! I come from a family of roofers and was inspired by my dad to start my own company- Pacific Pro Roofing. Growing up, I saw firsthand the care and dedication my dad put into each job. He always reminded me that roofing isn’t just about installing shingles or fixing leaks, it’s about protecting people’s homes, their families, and their peace of mind. When I opened Pacific Pro Roofing, I wanted to carry forward that same dedication and commitment to our community.

Based in Los Angeles, California, we provide a full range of services—from emergency repairs and leak prevention to complete roof replacements. We understand that a roof isn’t just part of a building, it’s an essential layer of safety and security. That’s why we’re committed to offering fast, reliable, and professional roofing services to meet any need.

Our community has given us so much, and we feel it’s our duty to give back by helping people feel safe and secure in their homes. Whether it’s through our emergency services, regular roof maintenance, or simply offering advice to someone who has questions, our goal is to be there for our customers in every way we can. We’re not just in the roofing business, we’re in the business of helping people and making a difference in our community.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

If I had to name the three most important qualities and skills, I would say they are a genuine love for helping others, the ability to learn and grow, and the drive to give 200% of yourself in whatever you commit to. Once you decide to focus on self-improvement—whether in your love life, family, business, or any other area—these three qualities become the main ingredients for success.

Over time, you’ll see how a genuine desire to help others will attract people who are eager to support you and push you forward. Your commitment to learning and developing will lead to consistent growth and improvement every day. And with enough consistency and determination, you’ll find that you can achieve anything you set your mind to. From there, the sky’s the limit.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?

My biggest area of growth over the past 12 months has been my company, Pacific Pro Roofing. This past year, we decided to expand and reached a point where we could truly start giving back to the community. Our clientele has grown significantly, and now, as we approach the end of the year, we’ve broken our record for the most roof replacements in Los Angeles since we opened. It feels incredible! Sometimes, you don’t realize how far you’ve come until you look back and see all that’s been accomplished. At Pacific Pro Roofing, we’re genuinely grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and make a difference and proud in our last year improvement.
