Meet Joshua Libby

We recently connected with Joshua Libby and have shared our conversation below.

Joshua, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
My father was a commander of a military base. If you are 5 minutes early you are late. I learned hard work and putting other first is very important.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I fell into this business on accident. I got really sick about 18 months before I started this company and sold the other company my wife and I owned. I started off in sales, then moved to technician and really fell in love with the job.

I spent 5 years reaching and working for other pest control companies to see what they were doing that worked, didn’t work and what ultimately made the customer happy. Then created a business around that. I love learning constantly on the job then applying it to other houses to get better results.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Always be honest. I have turned down jobs informing customers I don’t have the best skill set to take on this job and if you want it done right I would go with XXX or ZZZ.

Think about the customer and what they want out of the business. You built the business to cater to them.

Be open to learning and meeting new people from new walks of life.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
