Meet Joshua Miller

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Joshua Miller. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Joshua, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I don’t think I have fully yet! We are attracting leaders from across multiple countries with decades of experience who believe in our company and want to help, which is great but can be intimidating. One thing I’ve learned however, is to trust your own instincts and to not let anyone, even a well seasoned titan, guide your vision. We got this far because we thought differently than the ones already in the industry. If you let that intimidation take hold you’ll lose your disruptive spirit and follow along with the old guard you were trying to overturn.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
As one of the co-founders, and CEO, we wanted to create something that never existed before. Something that was designed from the ground up where the brokerage worked for our agents instead of the other way around. We really dug deep in finding exactly how we could flip the script of the broker-agent relationship and make this the most agent-centric brokerage in history.

I’m proud to say that we are the most innovative and disruptive real estate brokerage in the industry. We offer agents more technology tools than any other brokerage, and our benefits package is unmatched. Agents get everything from Free Leads, to Free Healthcare and Free Prescriptions, to Free Yard Signs and Free Photography, to even Free Car Washes!

What’s most exciting about our brand is that we are changing the game in real estate. We are revolutionizing the way agents work and empowering them to be more successful than ever before. Our focus on technology and cutting-edge tools sets us apart from the competition, and our agents are seeing incredible results because of it. We are the first AI-Certifed brokerage and we are bringing AI Tools to the industry that no one though possible.

We are also expanding rapidly and organically. Right now we are one of the fastest growing brokerages in history. Our recent expansion across North America has been a huge success, and we’re excited to continue growing and expanding our reach. In the past 4 months, we went from just being in Texas, to being in 10 states with 5 more soon to be announced, as well as our entrance to Ontario, Canada.

Overall, our mission at Epique Realty is to be the best real estate brokerage in the world for our agents.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The first thing we learned was that opening a brokerage is not easy! Like any business it has it’s own unique struggles. The only way to become successful as an entrepreneur is to keep your eye on big dream and not to let the daily frustrations discourage you. Do your best every single day, stay obsessed with your brand, and never give up. If you’re just starting as an agent, the best advice I would give is to stop preparing and start doing, and to make real estate your identity. This isn’t like any other job where you can just be “John” who does a job. You have to integrate it into your personal identity. You now become “John, the Condo King” or something similar. Re-brand yourself. Find your niche and don’t give up not for one minute.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My Co-Founders Janice Delcid and Christopher Miller. When you’re working hard to build something so disruptive and unique, you have to have the right people who share your passion and work ethic. I would generally say that business partners are a bad idea, unless they’re awesome. If you have the right team, you’ll soar higher than you ever though possible and faster than you can imagine. But the key is having the right people. Don’t be afraid to go it alone if you have to. I’d rather go it alone and hire assistants to help than go with partners who either don’t pull their weight, or don’t care about the company in the way you do. Passion, or better yet obsession, is crucial in a startup.
