We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Joshua White a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Joshua with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My Work ethics comes from wanting to be the best! I’ve always loved making music and I’ve grown to have a competitive edge to it. The thrill of creating something from scratch gives me all the motivation I need to be successful.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My Name Is Young Luna. I’m a hip hop artist, I have been making music for about 3 years and every year I get better. I’ve always loved music since I was young, music is apart of me. Being able to express myself thru music is very therapeutic, and soothing to me. I was raised in a small town in South Carolina named Holly Hill, it is my roots and I allow where I was raised to be apart of me. My artist name is Young Luna, owner and CEO of Lunacy Records. I will be releasing a new studio album within the coming months so be on the lookout!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Patience- Patience was always a keep component for me in the creation process, I would get frustrated that I would have a blockage in my creation process, don’t stress! I always tell people, let it come to you naturally, it’s best that way. Consistency- although music is everyone’s cup of tea, those who take part in musicianship should always keep pace with your audience, fellow colleagues, and most importantly yourself. I have a saying that I use, “you have to keep the groove, to feel the groove”
Passion- passion is always apart of anything I do, I always try to connect with my music because I am so passionate about what I do. The feeling I get when I creat something beautiful touches my soul to the fullest.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My significant other. I can’t thank her enough for the motivation, the pep talks, and the drive she gives me on a daily basis. It’s least great to have someone in your corner who genuinely wants to see you succeed.
