Meet Joslyn Curley

We recently connected with Joslyn Curley and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Joslyn, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I inherited my work ethic from a plethora of strong leaders within my family. From a lineage of dynamic go-getters and extreme leaders in the community to the most influential bread winners, my roots have set the foundation for success. I attribute my late grandfather for being the first to serve as the first black Reverend for his church and managing a family of unprecedented young men and women. This influx of characters would inspire strength and perseverance through love and support.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) for about 12 years and maintained a successful private practice for almost 10 years. My greatest achievements are working with adolescents and young adults on providing quality mental health care, inspiring higher standards and motivational goals for attainable success in life.

Each client I encounter, I am excited to know them and their expectations for wellness.

I am currently working on a nonprofit called MindRight Organization, geared toward awareness, education, and resources for mental health wellness for minority males. We want to encourage and emphasize the need for more mental health care facets for those minority males struggling with life’s challenges. Hopefully through MindRight, and the abundance of resources it creates, we can diminish the internal struggles of suicidal ideation or self-harm, depression, etc.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Finding a mentor with a vast experience (at least ten years in) that offers insight on resources such as an accountant, retirement savings, staffing, branding, etc.

Becoming as knowledgeable as possible about what your company offers and extend that to possibilities for additional goods and/or services. Diversification is essential.

Network, network, network!

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am seeking independent, assertive, powerful individuals that seek to secure a influential platform in the minority community to increase wellness and the mental health care objective. It is important to our growth and lifeline to continue initiatives that provide stability and enrichment with a focus on longevity and health wellness.
