We recently connected with Jsh B and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have JSH with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I get my work ethic from the people around me, particularly my mentors and friends. My mentors have been a constant source of inspiration, showing me the value of discipline, dedication, and perseverance in everything they do. Their guidance has taught me that hard work is not just about putting in hours but also about maintaining focus, learning from mistakes, and continually pushing myself to grow. Similarly, my friends play an important role in my work ethic by providing support, encouragement, and healthy competition. They motivate me to strive for excellence, and we often push each other to be the best versions of ourselves. Together, these influences have shaped my approach to work and helped me develop a strong, persistent mindset.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As a music producer, recording engineer, and studio manager at Funky Dope Music Compound, I have the privilege of being immersed in a vibrant, creative environment every day. What excites me most about my work is the opportunity to collaborate with incredibly talented artists and producers, and to help bring their visions to life in the studio. The energy and innovation that flows through the space is something I deeply value, and it keeps me inspired to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in music. My role allows me to be a part of every aspect of the creative process, from production and recording to mixing mastering, and I love watching the magic unfold. We’ve got some exciting new projects on the horizon, so stay tuned for upcoming releases that are sure to showcase the diverse and dynamic talent we’re working with!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three key qualities that have been most impactful in my journey are adaptability, attention to detail, and relationship-building.
Adaptability has been crucial because the music industry is always evolving—whether it’s new production techniques, trends in sound, or shifts in how music is distributed. Staying open to learning and embracing change has allowed me to stay ahead and keep my work fresh. My advice for those starting out is to never get too comfortable. Keep studying, experimenting, and pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone.
Attention to detail is what separates good from great when it comes to production and engineering. The little things—like the way a vocal sits in a mix or how a beat transitions between sections—can make all the difference. I recommend developing a critical ear by analyzing top-tier mixes, getting feedback from experienced engineers, and constantly refining your craft.
Lastly, relationship-building has been one of the most important aspects of my success. Music is a collaborative industry, and the connections you make can open doors you never expected. My advice is to network genuinely—support others, add value to their work, and surround yourself with people who inspire you. The relationships you build today can shape your future in ways you can’t imagine.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
One of the biggest challenges I’m focused on right now is optimizing growth and efficiency. As we continue to expand, my priority is ensuring that we provide top-tier service while scaling in a way that benefits both our clients and our team. To address this, I’m refining our business strategies, strengthening partnerships, and exploring new opportunities to elevate our brand. It’s an exciting time, and I’m committed to making strategic moves that will set us up for long-term success.
