Meet Juan Jimenez

We were lucky to catch up with Juan Jimenez recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have JUAN with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

Doing the things that bring me joy has always fueled my curiosity and drive to explore them further. Since I was a kid, I have naturally gravitated toward drawing and painting. Over time, it became more than just a pastime, it rather turned into a habit and an essential part of my personal growth. I’ve always prioritized creating time and space to develop my ideas and nurture my creativity.”

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I am Pincel Galactic, also known as Juan Jimenez, a visual artist exploring an alternative retro-futuristic universe where technology empowers humanity to maximize its potential. My work blends Latin-American and global traditions, spiritual paths, and states of consciousness, challenging the typical dystopian narratives often seen in media like movies and books.

Through a strong foundation in painting—spanning fine art and murals—I expand into diverse mediums such as illustration, fashion design, performance, and installations. These expressions create a unique aesthetic that bridges fine art with both physical and digital products. My art invites reflection on the intersection of tradition, innovation, and human potential, offering a fresh, optimistic perspective on the future.

Currently, I am working on new art pieces with the goal of expanding my reach and showcasing my work in different regions across the country and around the world. At the same time, I’m developing a more sustainable fashion brand that focuses on upcycling materials, combining creativity with eco-conscious practices to create environmentally friendly and meaningful designs

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

The first that comes to mind is discipline. Often times we feel lazy or get distracted by many things easily. I made myself the goal to work on art everyday even if its just a line on a paper, Second is curiosity, weather is learning new techniques or how to run your art business, stay curious on how to improve, I learnt so much just by looking at videos on how my favorite artists created their works. And third but not least is to have your own voice in what you do, make a list of all the things that matter to you and talk about them through your practice. Many people are just copying what the other profitable artist are doing and it loses that personal value and uniqueness.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?

“I am constantly striving to evolve and elevate my art to new heights, driven by a desire to push creative boundaries. Collaborating with tech-savvy individuals, animators and artists in different disciplines is something I deeply aspire to do, as it would open the door to crafting immersive experiences that bring my visions to life in innovative ways. Additionally, I am eager to connect with curators and gallerists who can help me share my work in diverse spaces, allowing it to resonate with wider audiences as well as creating a collaborative economy.
