Hi Juanita , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

The meaning of resilience means to bounce back . Resilience is the ability to adapt to change, recover from hardship, and move on from tragedy. If we go to the Bible there’s many people who experience resilience, Joseph, who continued doing God’s will even when he was thrown in prison. Esther, who spoke up for the Jews even when it put her own life in danger & Daniel, who prayed openly in defiance of the king’s laws. No matter what I went through in life , I knew that wasn’t the end of my story . The quote “The best is still yet to come” has always been my motto & kept me encouraged. My resilience comes from God . By leaning on God, practicing gratitude, cultivating supportive relationships, practicing self-care, and finding meaning in adversity, we can build resilience and overcome challenges in our lives. These strategies can help us thrive in the face of adversity, and become stronger and more resilient over time.

My name is Juanita Thomas, I am 24 years old . I am a Mother of a beautiful , smart , determined , courageous, loving & kind 7 year old little girl I am so grateful to be her mother . Being a teen mom at such a young age , I thought I couldn’t do it . Despite all of challenges I had to overcome I am thankful for the village I do have in my corner. God blessed me with her for a reason & I’m beyond blessed to be chosen to be her mother . With God’s help I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me .

I am the Owner of Divine Luxuries Custom Design’s. I specialize in Graphic Designing. I help others brand their businesses such as banners , posters, business cards , business t-shirts & so much more . We help others bring their vision for their businesses to life . With God’s help I have successfully shipped over 300+ orders. I’ve always had a passion to help others I am so happy I am able to work full time in my dream .

Last year 2023 I had a vision for notepads customizing my own notepads to help others with their walk with God & custom ones for entrepreneurs. After several of months I put my vision for the Lord in action . After several months of bringing this vision to life, I decided to launch my collection of custom notepads this summer of 2024. A few weeks later I started to get discouraged because they weren’t selling like I thought they would , But I was grateful for the orders I did have . I still had faith in due time they would sell . The beginning of September of 2024 God blessed me with 50+ orders . I was so amazed! Here we are October 24 & I have successfully shipped over 100+ orders . I am so beyond grateful, thankful & blessed . I am walking in the days I’ve been praying for. God is so good .

This August of 2024 , by God’s grace I launched my Crafting Business called Craftastic Creations & Co . Where I offer a variety of items, including living room decor, kitchen accessories, bedroom and bathroom essentials, car accessories, holiday decorations, revamping and sooo much more! I look forward to sharing amazing crafts made by me this Christmas.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back the three qualities I do believe I had was Faith , Passion & Determined. I say Faith because the Bible says in Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. No matter the outcome of life & business I still had Faith . Faith was something I held onto tightly because having Faith there is still hope for things to work out even when it seems like it won’t.

Another quality I chosen was Passion . I say Passion because as an entrepreneur for almost 7 years I had to realize being an entrepreneur is more than making money & having the title of entrepreneurship . I believe many have easily given up on their business due to lacking the quality of Passion. Many have started businesses because it looked good or was driven by money . You have to understand there’ is a difference between those two . Because when money isn’t coming in this is has to be something you are passionate about to still continue when you don’t see any results of your hard work .

My last quality I chosen was determined. I say determined because that was something I have always had even as a little girl. I believe every good thing God has installed in us in our Mother’s womb. If you aren’t determined about life and focused. Then , every obstacle or distraction that comes your way , you will be easily defeated or pulled away from your purpose.

With that being said , Faith , Passion & being determined is my three qualities that has helped me along my journey.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

When I feel overwhelmed I tend to take a break and find out what is overwhelming me . I tend to choose to focus on that one thing that’s causing me to feel that way. Rather if it’s being a mother , a daughter , a business owner or even a friend. I pause and find strategies that can help me . My relationship with God has also helped me because when I am overwhelmed or tired I chose to run to him about everything and he provides me strength that only comes from him. It’s a strength , joy & peace that I can’t explain . It’s divine straight from God.
