We recently connected with Jules Bruff and have shared our conversation below.
Jules, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I decided I wanted to be an actress at age 7, and that desire never waned! Today, I love being a storyteller in front of and behind the camera. I’ve learned to be resilient! I shake off any rejection or hard knocks and stay in the game. I’m a sensitive person, so cultivating resilience has been essential for self-preservation.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I am an award-winning actress and filmmaker. My second feature film as a producer-writer-actor, GOOD SIDE OF BAD, was the opening night film of the 2023 Dances With Films Festival in Los Angeles and has won numerous festival awards. Look out for GOOD SIDE OF BAD!
My favorite part of being an actor and filmmaker is collaborating with fellow creatives. One of the best things, to me, is to bring friends and artists together to create a project to entertain people, make them think, or open up a tough conversation. My first two features as producer-writer-actor have been mental-health themed. I feel strongly about doing my part to help alleviate societal stigma around living with mental health issues.
I’m attached to produce and act in Justin Duval’s next feature, STATION ZERO, Clark Childers’ feature, SHRIMP, and Mildred Marie Langford’s film NOLA: The Beginning. I’m also developing a solo film project. As an actor, I can be seen in projects ranging from David Fincher’s ZODIAC to S.W.A.T on CBS to the Award-Winning comedy FOR MURIAL with Mindy Sterling and over 70 commercials.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
