Meet Jules Kramer

We were lucky to catch up with Jules Kramer recently and have shared our conversation below.

Jules , we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I had some tough breaks as a kid that felt like the end of the world at the time. I searched for meaning and happiness and considered my self a hopeless romantic about life in general. When I was about 16, my world came crashing down and I remember my mother telling me to look for the silver lining. That it may not appear right away, but it will show itself. Ever since then, I believe in trusting the process. This life is a journey and always look for the silver linings.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I make jewelry and fill my store with fun goods to create an atmosphere of love and good energy. I have recently expended to a second location and expended my offerings. The new location is in a more residential area of Santa Barbara to cater to the local community and provide fun and unique gifts and goods. The store official open date is 10/31/23. I feel all my different jobs in my lifetime and led me to this point and I am having the time of my life owning and running a store.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Being a business major and working in corporate America in my 20’s has helped me really understand business and the marketplace. I am also a self trained graphic designer and have many years of brand direction so this helps me look at the business from all levels micro and macro. Last, having a very split brain, equal parts right and left, is helpful in understanding all aspects of the business. You are born with strengths and weaknesses but they can always be developed. Dive in and understand every aspect of the business so you can trust where you are going.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
My best and worst quality is I think I can do it all. This is a challenge when you have 2 stores and can’t split yourself in half. I am challenged by letting go of some of the control and trusting others to represent my space but I am getting better at doing it!
