We recently connected with Julia Krasinski and have shared our conversation below.
Julia , we are so appreciative of you taking the time to open up about the extremely important, albeit personal, topic of mental health. Can you talk to us about your journey and how you were able to overcome the challenges related to mental issues? For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
The main thing that’s kept me going in life is my future. My dreams. Along side of course my family and friends. But the main thing that’s kept me going is hope, hope for my future, and hope that I’ll be where I want to be regarding my career(s) within the next 5-10 years. I know life is tough, and life gets rough, but I make sure to tell myself every night before I go to bed “you did good today, tomorrow is a new day, and you can always do better if today wasn’t as good as you wanted it to be.” And when I wake up the next day, I wake up with a smile and always tell myself “today is a brand new day, let’s make it a positive one, and let’s make our dreams come true!” I believe in everyone having dreams, it’s okay to dream, to have wants, to wish you had something, to work hard for what you want, to have aspirations, and to have motivation. Just don’t lose track of what’s really important in your life, like the ones who are close to you who are willing to support you through anything.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m known for a variety of reasons! One of them being social media. I started social media at a very young age. Probably around 13 years old, considering the time in our world where technology was headed. I’m always online trying to do the next best thing or learn something new. It’s helped me grow my socials exponentially and connect with some amazing people that I would have never in my life would have thought possible at one point in my life. I have a YouTube channel, Instagram, TikTok, of course Spotify, and a creator/public Snapchat! I’m well versed in music because of social media. I recently just started taking online classes from Cheryl Porter for vocal improvements that I felt I wanted to improve my quality in my music that I felt I wanted/needed to have a certain sound in my music. It’s amazing how much different I sound already, she is an amazing teacher! I currently am working on a few projects as of right now, but I can’t say quite too much! I’m working on a new album and working with my management team and producer currently! My next album will be coming out with subtle hints and teasers on my socials soon! So keep your eyes peeled for that! If people know me, they also know that I’m a licensed cosmetologist and professional PMU/MUA! I’ve been doing makeup for about 10+ years, and hair for about 5+! I’m currently working on opening up my own makeup/beauty brand with art themed products, a lot of my ideas I’ve had since I was a teenager, there’s literally sketches in my sketchbooks from when I had them to sketch in when I was younger, and I would sketch out product ideas. I’m very proud of a lot of my ideas. But unfortunately, because of how diverse the beauty community is now with its products and innovation/creativity, I feel as there’s no more room for others who want to partake in the space of the beauty industry. Like, you see all of these amazing, reputable, prestigious, and very well-known brands from back in the day, and people look up to them. So they buy them. But then there’s the newer stuff with some more creativity, but with my brand, it’s going to shout from the rooftops. Special, artistic, creative, and unique. Period.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
There are three things that I will always thank my father for teaching me as a business owner himself and teaching his daughter as he knew she wanted to follow in his footsteps. These are the main three:
1. Patience, this is is self explanatory.
2. Letting people talk before you talk. If you let people talk during your conversation and make them feel heard, and don’t interrupt when they’re speaking, it makes them feel appreciated and more heard. (I had to work really hard at this when I was a kid, I have severe adhd and mild autism, it was very hard for me as a kid to just try to calm down and listen and not talk my mouth off.) This one definitely helped me make a lot of the friends I have now who love me for me.
3. To love myself for who I am. I’m unique to myself, and I should learn to love myself, because there’s only one me, there won’t ever be another me. I should treat myself with the same kindness, respect, and love as I give others.
Some advice I have for others is to just take things slow. You won’t change everything in minutes, or hours, or days, or even weeks. It will take months to make changes to your lifestyle. And that’s totally okay. Life takes awhile to change. It might even take years to notice changes. But be patient, and you’ll reach where you’re wanting to go.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I am looking to collaborate with people in the future as I get bigger on social media and within the music industry. But I would love to potentially say who I would want to collaborate with/the type of people I would want to collaborate with as of right now! The number one band I’d love to collaborate with is Black Veil Brides, they’re a very huge band in the rock/metal scene. The lead singer and the rest of the band are all amazing people, and inspire me so much. I’ve been listening to this band since I was 4 years old, I’m 23, turning 24 in December if that says anything. I feel old now. What a way to age me, great, haha! But I would love to collaborate with them in the future once I get bigger! Or even on “The Andy Show” podcast with Andy (lead singer of BVB and his cousin Joe.) But as of right now if any smaller creators, YouTubers, or musicians, etc, want to collab, you can get ahold of my management on their Instagram by sending them a direct message: @PuristLabel or simply just message me on Instagram: @juliakrasinskiofficial
