Meet Julia Mason

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Julia Mason. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Julia, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
Impostor syndrome is a familiar term to many, often conjuring images of self-doubt and fear. However, it’s not something that one completely overcomes; instead, it’s a challenge we learn to dance with. As we grow and venture into new territories, it’s natural for our egos to feel fear. The secret lies in seeking support from those who uplift us and see our potential, reflecting our highest selves.

Throughout my journey, I’ve been fortunate to have influential coaches and the unwavering support of a sisterhood. I’ve also actively sought the company of women who embody my aspirations. Their presence and energy have been instrumental in helping me realize that I, too, can attain similar heights. On a personal level, I connect with my higher self through daily journaling and meditation whenever possible.

My spirituality is a crucial part of this process. When faced with challenges beyond my control, I turn to my ‘Godbox.’ This simple act of writing down my worries and surrendering them allows me to let go and trust in a higher power. I’ve found that I can connect more deeply with my spirituality in moments of stillness – whether it’s during a quiet shower or a walk in nature. These moments create space for clarity and answers to emerge.

Despite these practices, there are still days when I feel out of place or scared. In these moments, I reflect on my journey and my progress. I often ask myself, “Who is the woman I’m becoming by doing xyz? In five years how will I feel if I lean into the vulnerability and follow my dreams? What would my younger self think of the person I’ve evolved into?”

I firmly believe in living life to the fullest, pushing boundaries, and embracing rejection and vulnerability as part of the creative process.

There’s a saying that the difference between fear and excitement is how we breathe. By changing our perspective and controlling our breath, we can transform fear into a state of readiness and excitement. This approach has not only helped me manage my fears but also encouraged me to live a life filled with enthusiasm and purpose.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Since its inception in 2016, Enthusiasm Lab has been more than just a marketing company. It’s a journey where deep self-development and spirituality converge to redefine business success. My experience has taught me that the best business partner one can have is their spirit or higher power. This belief underpins the philosophy of Enthusiasm Lab: our work should not only reflect our higher purpose but also fulfill our deepest desires fueled by enthusiasm.

At Enthusiasm Lab, my array of services includes coaching, dream client attraction sessions, website design, and branding. However, what sets me apart is the unique integration of our clients’ higher power into our offerings. This approach provides a bespoke experience, inviting clients into a space of expansion. It’s an opportunity to align who they are evolving into with what they truly want from their business and life, using their creative materials to attract clients and customers.

This methodology ensures two key outcomes. Firstly, it guarantees that our clients create from a place of their greatest and highest good. Secondly, it helps them attract ideal clients who resonate at a higher frequency, bringing them joy and fulfillment in their professional endeavors and, most importantly, their lives.

Beyond individual services, Enthusiasm Lab is passionate about community and expansion. In my spare time, I love organizing group events and creating spaces for individuals eager for personal growth. The self-development and coaching skills I’ve acquired over the years are not just my tools; they are gifts to my soul. My goal is to share this knowledge and sense of expansion with others, fostering a community where business, life, and spirituality harmoniously blend so individuals can live the lives they have always desired.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back on my journey, three distinct qualities stand out as the pillars of my growth and success. These are the willingness to embrace new experiences, a commitment to continuous learning, and the openness to let spirituality guide my decisions. For those at the beginning of their own paths, understanding and cultivating these qualities can be immensely beneficial.

1. Embracing New Experiences
My readiness to step outside my comfort zone has been crucial from the start. Trying new things, even when they seem daunting, opens doors to unexpected opportunities and learning. It’s about saying ‘yes’ to the unknown and embracing the lessons that come with new challenges.

Advice for Beginners: Start small. Take on new tasks or projects that differ from your usual routine. It could be as simple as attending a networking event, learning a new skill, or even changing your approach to a familiar task. The key is to gradually expand your comfort zone and embrace the growth that comes with it.

2. Investing in Continuous Learning
Investment in self-growth has been a non-negotiable aspect of my journey. Continuous learning has kept me updated and adaptable, whether it’s through courses, coaches, programs, or books. It’s not just about formal education but also about being open to new ideas and perspectives.

Advice for Beginners: Allocate time and resources for your personal and professional development. This doesn’t always mean expensive courses or programs. It can be as accessible as reading books, listening to podcasts, or engaging in online communities related to your field. The goal is to keep learning and evolving.

3. Letting Spirituality Guide You
Allowing my spirituality to guide my life has been transformative. This means surrendering to new circumstances and seeking spiritual support in my endeavors. Recognizing that there is a greater force at work and being open to its guidance has provided clarity and purpose in both my personal and professional life.

Advice for Beginners: Start by identifying what spirituality means to you. It could be meditation, prayer, or simply spending time in nature. Learn to listen to your inner voice or intuition. This might involve journaling, reflective practices, or mindful meditation. The key is to find what connects you to your sense of spirituality and allow it to guide your decisions.

In conclusion, these three qualities – embracing new experiences, investing in continuous learning, and letting spirituality guide you – have been instrumental in my journey. For those just starting out, focusing on developing these areas can pave the way for a more enriching and successful path. Remember, the journey is as important as the destination, and these qualities are the companions that make the journey worthwhile.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
In the literature landscape that has shaped personal development, “Untamed” by Glennon Doyle stands out as a lighthouse of empowerment and authenticity. This memoir, woven with self-help elements, has played a pivotal role in my journey toward self-discovery and liberation. Here are a few of the most impactful nuggets of wisdom from the book that have resonated deeply with me:

Trust Your Inner Voice: One of the most empowering lessons from “Untamed” is the importance of the “Knowing” – that inner voice or intuition that guides us. Doyle’s emphasis on listening to and trusting this inner wisdom has encouraged me to seek answers from within and make decisions aligned with my true self.

Growth Through Discomfort: Doyle’s candid discussion about embracing discomfort for personal growth has been a game changer. It taught me that facing uncomfortable truths and challenges is essential for personal liberation, not something to be shied away from.

Breaking Free from Societal Norms: The book’s powerful message about shedding societal expectations, especially for women, has been eye-opening. It inspired me to question and break free from the roles and behaviors society often imposes, paving the way for a life that truly reflects who I am.

Finding Clarity in Stillness: “Untamed” beautifully explores the concept of ‘Be Still and Know’. This idea of finding clarity and direction in moments of stillness has prompted me to incorporate quiet reflection into my daily life, leading to greater self-awareness and purpose.

Redefining Motherhood and Identity: Doyle’s exploration of motherhood and personal identity resonated with me deeply. It highlighted the importance of balancing the responsibilities of parenthood with personal needs and aspirations, a concept that is often overlooked.

Embracing Vulnerability: The book’s raw and vulnerable storytelling has underscored the power of openness. Sharing our true selves, complete with our struggles, can lead to deeper connections and personal growth.

The Art of Letting Go: Doyle’s advocacy for letting go of control has been liberating. Understanding that the need for control often leads to stress and accepting life’s unpredictability has been a valuable lesson in embracing life’s journey with more ease and grace.

Prioritizing Self-Care: Finally, the emphasis on self-care in “Untamed” has reinforced its importance in my life. Taking care of oneself mentally and physically is beneficial and essential for a well-rounded and fulfilling life.

“Untamed” by Glennon Doyle is more than just a book; it catalyzes transformation. Its lessons on authenticity, courage, and self-love have played a significant role in my development, offering a new perspective on living freely and truly. For anyone on the path of self-discovery and personal growth, “Untamed” is a must-read that provides both inspiration and practical wisdom.
