Meet Julia parzyck

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Julia Parzyck a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Julia, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?

Finding my purpose was a deeply personal journey that stemmed from turning my pain into my purpose. After struggling with an eating disorder for ten years, I experienced firsthand the challenges and hardships that come with navigating body image issues. However, once I embarked on my journey to recovery and eventually found healing, I felt a strong desire to help other women on their own paths to self-love and empowerment.

It was through this journey of self-discovery and healing that I realized my purpose – to support and empower women to embrace their bodies, celebrate their softness, and cultivate a positive relationship with themselves. I wanted to create a space where women could feel seen, heard, and supported as they worked through their own body image struggles.

Thus, I founded my business, centered around the core values of celebrating women empowerment and promoting body acceptance. Through workshops, wardrobe styling, coaching sessions, and community events, I strive to provide women with the tools, resources, and support they need to navigate their own journeys towards self-love and acceptance.

My purpose is deeply rooted in my own experiences and struggles, and I am committed to using my platform to uplift and empower others who may be facing similar challenges. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see the impact that my work has on the lives of women, and I am grateful every day to be able to support them on their paths to healing and empowerment.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m excited to share my story and what I’m focused on professionally. I am deeply passionate about empowering individuals to embrace their unique style and cultivate a positive relationship with their bodies. As an inclusive wardrobe stylist, I work with clients to help them discover their personal style, feel confident in their appearance, and celebrate their individuality. I recently started this part of my business, Soft Body Baddie Styling and it has brought me so much joy and purpose!

What sets my work apart is my holistic approach to styling. I believe that true confidence comes from embracing one’s authentic self, and I strive to empower my clients to do just that. Whether it’s through wardrobe consultations, personal styling sessions, or body image coaching, I aim to create a safe and inclusive space where clients can explore their style journey with confidence and self-assurance.

One of the most exciting aspects of my work is witnessing the transformation that occurs when clients embrace their unique style and feel confident in their own skin. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the impact that my services have on their self-esteem and overall well-being.

In terms of new developments, I’m thrilled to announce that I have a self-paced course, called How to Dress Like a Soft Body Baddie, focused on body acceptance, self-love, and your journey to style empowerment, all designed to empower individuals to embrace their unique style and feel confident in expressing themselves authentically.

Overall, I’m passionate about helping others feel empowered and confident in their appearance, and I’m excited to continue making a positive impact through my work.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back on my journey, I believe there were three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful:

Resilience: One of the most important qualities I developed throughout my journey was resilience. There were many challenges and setbacks along the way, but I learned to persevere and stay focused on my goals. Building resilience is essential for navigating the ups and downs of any journey, and I found that practicing self-care, maintaining a positive mindset, and seeking support from others were key strategies for developing this quality.

Self-awareness: Another crucial aspect of my journey was cultivating self-awareness. By taking the time to reflect on my experiences, strengths, and areas for growth, I gained a deeper understanding of myself and what I needed to succeed. Developing self-awareness involves introspection, mindfulness, and a willingness to confront uncomfortable truths. I found that journaling, breath work, and seeking feedback from others were helpful practices for fostering self-awareness.

Continuous learning: Lastly, I believe that a commitment to continuous learning was instrumental in my journey. As I navigated new challenges and opportunities, I sought out knowledge and expertise to help me grow and evolve. Whether it was attending workshops, reading books, or seeking mentorship, I embraced opportunities to expand my skills and knowledge base. I found that remaining curious, open-minded, and proactive in seeking out learning opportunities were key to my personal and professional development.

For those who are early in their journey, my advice would be to focus on developing these three qualities:

Cultivate resilience by practicing self-care, maintaining a positive mindset, and seeking support from others during challenging times.

Invest in self-awareness by engaging in introspection, mindfulness, and seeking feedback from others to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your goals.

Embrace a mindset of continuous learning by seeking out opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge base, whether through workshops, books, or mentorship.

By prioritizing these qualities and skills, individuals can lay a strong foundation for success and navigate their journey with confidence and resilience.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
At the moment, one of the primary challenges I’m facing revolves around establishing a steady client base for my styling services while simultaneously handling my marketing responsibilities. Given that my styling services are relatively new, I’m focused on attracting clients who resonate with my inclusive approach to styling. However, effectively managing client acquisition alongside ongoing marketing efforts can be quite demanding.

Although building a consistent client base presents its hurdles, I’m dedicated to overcoming them. By remaining proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering exceptional service, I’m confident in my ability to navigate this challenge and ultimately achieve success in growing my styling business.
