Meet Juliana Wilfong

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Juliana Wilfong a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Juliana, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I get my resilience from my family, especially my two little kids. They’re my biggest motivation. As a family and senior photographer, I’m lucky to see special moments every day. That reminds me how important it is to stay strong and present in everyone’s life around me. My kids inspire me to keep going, to be creative, to work hard, and to remain hopeful, even when life gets tough.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a family and high school senior photographer based in Denver, Colorado. I specialize in capturing real, meaningful moments—whether it’s a senior stepping into a new chapter of life or a family simply trying to capture their milestones. I believe photos should feel like you—natural, joyful, and full of connection.

What I love most about what I do is getting to freeze time for people. Life moves fast, especially with little kids (I have two of my own!), and being able to give families something they can hold onto forever is something I never take for granted.

In my free time, I’m usually with my husband and kids, and occasionally I catch up with friends. I almost always have my camera with me to capture our family adventures. We love hiking, reading, camping, watching movies, and spending as much time outdoors as possible. Early in the morning, before my kids wake up, I enjoy a quiet moment with a book and a cup of tea or coffee to start my day.

I photograph clients in Parker, Castle Rock, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Denver, and beyond. I’m also happy to travel outside of Colorado for your custom family or high school senior photo session.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been patience, connection with people, and a love for continuous learning.

Patience has helped me stay grounded—both as a parent and a photographer—when things don’t go as planned. Building real connections allows me to create a comfortable space where genuine moments can happen. And staying curious and open to learning has helped me grow both creatively and professionally.

My advice to anyone starting their journey as a photographer: be patient with yourself, focus on building meaningful relationships, and never stop learning. I always tell everyone that it doesn’t matter how high you can reach, you will always be learning your entire journey. Growth takes time, but it’s worth it.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?

My parents, husband, and kids have been the most helpful in shaping who I am and helping me grow through challenges. My parents taught me the value of hard work and perseverance. My husband has been a constant support, encouraging me to pursue my goals, even when things felt uncertain. And my kids inspire me every day to be present, patient, and creative.
