Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Julie Ogazon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Julie, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
I keep my creativity alive by staying curious and continuously seeking new experiences. I draw inspiration from the world around me, whether it’s through nature, art, or the simple moments of everyday life. Regularly nurturing my passion through art, reading, and traveling to new places helps spark fresh ideas.
Equally important is taking time to step away from work; I recharge by spending time outdoors, practicing mindfulness, and allowing myself to relax and unwind. This balance keeps my ideas vibrant and my passion for creativity strong.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Thank you so much for the opportunity to share my story and professional journey with you. My name is Julie, and I am the founder of a unique handbag design company that merges creativity, culture, and empowerment.
**What I do:**
I have always had a passion for design and storytelling. This passion led me to create a brand that not only offers beautiful, one-of-a-kind handbags but also tells a deeper story of cultural heritage and empowerment. Each handbag is crafted in collaboration with the Wayuu women of Colombia, whose artistry and traditions are woven into every piece.
**Why It’s Exciting:**
The most exciting aspect of my work is the deep connection between art and culture. Collaborating with the Wayuu artisans is incredibly fulfilling; their intricate weaving techniques and the cultural narratives embedded in each piece make our handbags truly special. This collaboration empowers these talented women, supports their communities, and brings a unique story to each customer.
**What’s New:**
I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates for this year:
– **New Collection Launch:** We are introducing a new line of handbags and accessories that expand on our current offerings. These new products will feature fresh designs and materials while staying true to our commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
– **Pop-Up Events:** We are planning a series of pop-up events to connect with our customers directly. These events will allow people to see our products up close, and hear the stories behind them.
– **Sustainability Initiatives:** We are also exploring new ways to integrate sustainable practices into our production process. This includes sourcing eco-friendly materials and reducing waste to ensure that our brand contributes positively to the environment.
As we continue to grow, my focus remains on maintaining the integrity and quality of our work while further empowering the Wayuu community. We aim to collaborate with more artisans and designers who share our vision of combining art, culture, and sustainability.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about my brand and my journey. I hope to inspire others through my work and to continue creating beautiful, meaningful pieces that resonate with people around the world.
