Meet Juliette Hardy

We were lucky to catch up with Juliette Hardy recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Juliette, so happy you were able to devote some time to sharing your thoughts and wisdom with our community. So, we’ve always admired how you have seemingly never let nay-sayers or haters keep you down. Can you talk to us about how to persist despite the negative energy that so often is thrown at folks trying to do something special with their lives?

Since I am a creator of erotic comics, and a woman artist in this field, which is even more rare, you can just imagine the kinds of judgments that I am subject to. This, despite the immense popularity of erotica among all people, which surely includes some of those who claim to despise my work.
If they try to persuade others that my artwork, which is normal human sexual fantasies expressed, is somehow bad, I realize that they are only trying to convince themselves of the truth which we all know: that is normal and healthy to think about sex, and to fantasize about situations in which we would all love to find ourselves.
So their negativity actual provides me with the firmness and resolve to keep pushing harder, and to continue. And I love what I do!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I draw short stories in comics form to reveal taboo female fantasies, all traditionally drawn and painted lovingly by hand. These are all the most popular sexual fantasies that every single woman alive (and every man!) secretly enjoys in their minds, and would love to try in real life.

Every single woman has had these fantasies, all of them! And I know that people of all sexual orientations dream about these kinds of kinky adventures. The works that I depict are always consensual scenes, with absolutely no mistreatment of characters, and entire within the bounds of the law (i.e. no minors). Beyond mere fantasy and entertainment, my artwork brings a necessary release for readers to enjoy.

And I can also tell you that I have enjoyed many of these scenarios in real life, so I know how to depict a true portrayal on the page. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

It’s hard being authentic! You have to be honest with yourself, and this means being able to step away from the crowd and all the suffocating advice that others will try to force upon you.

And finally, you need to keep your eye on the final goal, the place you want to be, because it’s so easy to succumb to the noise around you and give up your dream.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

Well, as touched upon earlier, everyone (and I mean everyone!) wants to have his or her sexual fantasies come to life, whether it’s just by seeing and reading, or going further. But there is so much puritan censorship on the internet, and also in the bookstores, and everywhere else.

These two contradictory thrusts make no sense. On the one hand, we tell ourselves in the modern world that we are liberated, and free to choose what we do with our own selves – but then we tell others what they can and cannot even see. It’s sad, and ridiculous! After all, we’re adults, so why can people not accept that fact, and be free about enjoying their own sexuality?
