Meet Julio Araujo

We recently connected with Julio Araujo and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Julio , great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
You start realizing that fear is natural — but it’s not meant to control you. When you trust that God, purpose, or the vision guiding you is bigger than your comfort zone, you stop letting “what if I fail?” dictate your choices. Faith gives you courage to move anyway, even when things aren’t guaranteed.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7

When it really came down to it, I didn’t give myself a plan B or C — I had to get it done.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I’d say the three qualities that impacted my journey the most were faith, discipline, and perseverance. Faith kept me grounded when nothing made sense. Discipline taught me to show up and give my best even when I didn’t feel like it. And perseverance helped me push through the hard seasons when quitting felt easier. For anyone starting out, focus on those three — trust God with the vision, stay consistent even when results are slow, and don’t let fear stop you. Every season you endure builds the foundation for the next one.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
My biggest challenge right now is finding someone who shares the same passion and drive to grow with The Handy Nevadan. I’m looking for someone I can mentor — not just in skill, but in character and faith — so we can keep building and serving our community with excellence.
