We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Julio Cesar a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Julio, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
My purpose in this industry is to be of service — to inspire, to teach, to mentor, and to lead with heart. I aim to use dance as a tool to uplift voices, to bring communities together, and to remind people of their inner strength and worth. Whether I’m performing, choreographing, or guiding the next generation of dancers, I move with intention, knowing that every step I take has the power to inspire others to move, to grow, and to believe in themselves.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Im more than just a dancer — a visionary artist, educator, and leader who has found their life’s purpose through the transformative power of movement. With a deep-rooted passion for dance as a form of storytelling, healing, and connection, i dedicated my journey not only to perfecting my craft, but to using it as a tool to uplift, empower, and inspire others.
What began as a personal passion quickly evolved into a greater calling: to be of service through dance. From the stage to the studio, I always been trying to create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and free to express their most authentic selves. Their work is driven by the belief that dance is a universal language — one that can spark confidence, build community, and ignite change.
Through performances, teaching, mentorship, and creative collaborations, always continuing to make a meaningful impact in the dance community and beyond. The mission is to inspire the next generation of dancers to move with purpose, live with intention, and believe in the power of their own voice — both on and off the stage.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Resilience has carried me through the challenges — from physical setbacks to moments of self-doubt — and reminded me to keep showing up, even when the path wasn’t easy.
Authenticity has allowed me to stay grounded in who I am, both as an artist and as a person, and to express my truth through movement without compromise.
Compassion has been the heart of my purpose — not only in the way I connect with others but in how I use dance to serve, uplift, and inspire those around me.
These qualities have not only shaped my growth as a dancer, but also as a leader, mentor, and creative voice in the community.”

Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
Over the past 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been learning to fully trust myself — both as an artist and as a leader. I’ve learned to quiet the noise of outside expectations and instead listen to my own voice, instincts, and creative vision. This shift has not only deepened my confidence but also allowed me to make bolder choices, take meaningful risks, and stay aligned with my purpose in the dance industry. Embracing self-trust has opened new doors for collaboration, growth, and authenticity in everything I do.
