Meet Julissa Duchatellier

We recently connected with Julissa Duchatellier and have shared our conversation below.

Julissa, we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?

For self care, I try to take out two days out of the month to get my hair and nails done. Doing so not only keeps me at peace, but I also feel like self care is very important because it will prevent burnout. I also try and time my day out (posting on different platforms) then I would take a break and watch Instagram reels / Facebook videos for 30 mins. This helps me reset and refocus on my tasks that I complete daily.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m a serial entrepreneur, so you could call me a Jill of all trades. I’ve got a media company, a beauty and wellness brand, an esthetics service, and a credit repair service under my belt. There’s always more to do and I’m always looking to find a new business that might fill an unfilled need. It makes me feel good to provide something that people really need.
BelleJuu-TV is my media brand where I host shows, provide media services (event coverage, event recaps), provide graphic design services and more.

Bossed Up Wellness is my wellness brand with a company partnership – Total Life Changes, which consists of health and wellness products to help people feel and look their best.

Bossed Up Pop Ups is my pop up shop brand where I host local pop up events and business owners come together and sell their products + network with other business owners.

Jujusthetics is my beauty brand where I offer make-up services, hair removal services, & I will be selling beauty products.

Belle Credit Solutions is my credit repair brand where I help people boost their credit scores.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Three qualities that were most impactful in my journey
Discipline: It’s important to have a level of discipline in business, as you may have to work odd hours or even forgo taking time off.
Respect: Treat everyone with respect, and you’ll receive the same in return.
Staying focused: Keep your eye on the prize, but be open to opportunities as they arise.

Advice for people who are early in their entrepreneur journey: Do a lot of homework on your business idea and ensure your business will be profitable. Also, be willing to change course to adapt to the marketplace.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?

In the book “The Four Agreements,” there are so many valuable pieces of advice. There are a lot of things that were helpful for me, but the most impactful thing I took away from the book is that I am not responsible for others’ opinions of me. I am responsible for my own actions, reactions, and thoughts.
