Meet Justin Cobb

We were lucky to catch up with Justin Cobb recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Justin, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

It was something that was forged in me from an early age. I am a queer, gay man born and raised in a small, rural, working-class community in northeast Pennsylvania. My maternal grandfather was a Republican commissioner and my paternal grandfather was a Baptist pastor.

Both sides of my family struggled with embracing who I am.

My coach joked that I didn’t stand a chance. Yet here I am writing this story for you all.

I’ve endured my fair share of personal and systemic challenges. I’ve survived abuse, domestic violence, financial hardship, rebuilding after eviction, stalking, and unjust termination. My resilience is a testament of my character. For me, it is more than just bouncing back from obstacles. It is about breaking cycles, reclaiming power, and choosing what to carry forward.

I of course also can’t take all the credit. I am uplifted and supported by a God that loves me, a community that celebrates me, and a purpose greater than myself.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’m Justin G. Cobb—storyteller, strategist, and founder of Small Seeds Media, where we build platforms that nourish truth, justice, and transformation. I host a global podcast and media space called Insight, where I interview boundary-pushing leaders, artists, and healers who are rewriting the rules of power, identity, and legacy.

What makes my work exciting— and deeply personal— is that it’s not just about visibility, it’s about liberation. I’ve lived through erasure, hardship, and reinvention, and I bring that lived experience into every story I tell and every brand I help shape. Whether I’m working with a decolonial health coach, an emerging artist, or a multigenerational entrepreneur, I help people clarify their message, honor their roots, and show up in their full complexity.

Right now, I’m expanding my platform across Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Spotify, and Substack. I’m also launching new services that blend authentic branding, ethical AI integration, and narrative coaching— especially for people who are building something bigger than just a business.

Small Seeds is growing, and it’s not just about me— it’s about the ecosystem of creators, disruptors, and visionaries I’m in community with. If you’re ready to be seen as you truly are— not just as a title or trend—I’d love to connect.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

1. Resilience, Discernment, and Storytelling

• Resilience as your ability to adapt, heal, and reimagine yourself in the face of systemic and personal adversity.

• Discernment as the skill to know who’s really for you, what opportunities are worth your energy, and when to walk away.

• Storytelling as your superpower—not just for branding but for reclaiming power, building community, and surviving systems meant to erase you.

Advice: Learn to sit with discomfort, reflect on your patterns, and practice telling your story before the world validates it.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

My ideal client is someone who’s building something with heart. They may be a healer, strategist, artist, or founder—but what unites them is that they care about impact, not just optics. They’ve usually done enough self-work to know that their message matters, but they’re not always sure how to share it. That’s where I come in. I help them clarify their story, amplify their voice, and grow their platform without selling out their soul.
