Meet Justin Dixson

We recently connected with Justin Dixson and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Justin, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.

I have to honestly say I was born with it. Always glass half full. I won an optimist award in 4th grade and did t know what it was. My smile, my joy I rather my impact be positive than nasty.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am the owner of mafia cuts in Gumbys barbershop. I offer razor shaves, haircuts , facials, eyebrow services and a great ear for listening to all of life’s ups and downs. My favorite part is connecting with people new and friends. Creating an experience they won’t forget and leaving the chair happy and with confidence. When you look good you feel good.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

patience- one of the big once I’m working on still but key. Can’t rush things especially just because you want or think you want it. Take time, let things develop and improve in all situations
People person-I can get along with anyone no matter that background. I don’t focus on differences and make them negative. I can reach and network. Make new clients just from being kind to strangers

Adaptation- can’t get stuck on one way. Multiple ways to achieve a look and trends are always changing. Don’t lose out just cause your afraid of change

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Always looking to network, collaborate, give back. I do free haircutevents at back to school events. Looking forward to starting some at some shelters.

Where do you get your work ethic from?

We’ve all heard the phrase “work hard, play hard,” but where does our work ethic
