Meet Justin Faison

We recently connected with Justin Faison and have shared our conversation below.

Justin, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

Resilience is something that I would say is a big part of who I am today. My resilience came from the experiences and adversity that God has allowed me to go through. It came from him and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My dad unexpectedly passed away when I was 7 years old. This was the start of my journey of resilience. In that resilience, I leaned on my family, and most importantly God to get me through the loss of my dad. I played sports growing up and were a big part of my journey. I played basketball in high school and at community college, then I transferred to Arizona State University and switched to football. This was all despite the two ACL injuries I sustained playing basketball at community college before going to ASU. The Lord blessed me with the opportunity to play at a D1 school with no football experience. I wouldn’t be able to do that if I didn’t go through the obstacles and losing my father at a young age. It has made me who I am today and I am so grateful!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

With my upbringing and foundations that were placed within me at a early age from my mom and dad, I love working with people. I am the Owner of my insurance agency Faison Insurance Services. I get the privilege to work with families, businessowners, & corporations on helping them navigate and achieve their plans and visions they have for their future and provide protection for their families and businesses. This is a special profession that means a lot to me because of the experiences and adversity I overcame, losing my dad at a young age unexpectedly, but the foundations that were instilled in me by both of my parents of generosity, compassion, and God’s love for others.

Along with that, my family and I have a nonprofit foundation called Hearts Saved by Grace Foundation. It was started in 2004 in memory of my dad who unfortunately passed away due to Cardiac Arrest. Our mission is to spread awareness of Cardiac Arrest, provide AED’s to schools, public facilities, provide CPR trainings, heart screenings/EKG’s for families, scholarship opportunities for students, and getting hearts saved by grace! We hosted a golf tournament in July and plan on doing that annually!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

I would say faith, work ethic, & the ability to overcome adversity. The best way to improve on these is have belief in the gifts that God has given you. We each have a gift that he has given every single person. The Lord gifted me athletic ability and a heart for others, and that propelled me increase the other qualities in my life and to at peace and joy on where I am out now in my life. Also being open to new opportunities and experiences. That allows you to go through different lessons that you will learn as you go through them, good or bad.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?

When it comes to working with others, my ideal client would be someone who has a need or obstacle that needs to be solved in order for them to achieve their financial goals and future for them and their family. When I have the opportunity to work with them, I look at the whole picture and use all my resources available for the best solution for them. It’s also important to me that those I work with, they truly know who I am, my family, and building a fruitful relationship with them.
