We recently connected with Justin Pomasl and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Justin, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
Over the last few years, I’ve really leaned into the idea that failure is just part of growth. When I take risks, I remind myself that I’ll either land on my feet and find success, or I’ll learn something valuable that gets me closer the next time. That mindset has helped me move forward with confidence, knowing that every outcome teaches me something and keeps me growing.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
What a loaded question — because I wear a lot of hats!
Let’s start with 4YOU Cycling, my Indoor Cycling Studio in West Palm Beach. I’m the owner, but I also instruct classes, work front desk, and stay hands-on with our community. While I’m passionate about the business side, there’s something deeply fulfilling about being in the room—on the bike or at the desk—connecting with the people who show up for us.
The reason I became an instructor in the first place is because other instructors helped me through some of the toughest seasons of my life—many without even knowing the impact they had. I wanted to do the same: to create a space where people feel seen, supported, and empowered. That mission carries through everything we do at 4YOU.
We built 4YOU on the values of inclusivity and community. There are no mirrors in our studio, no screens or metrics tracking your performance—because it’s not about comparison or perfection. It’s about showing up exactly as you are and knowing you belong.
Outside of 4YOU, I oversee all aspects of Retail Operations in the Florida Region for Comcast. It’s a role I’m really proud of because it allows me to support over 650 employees across our corporate-owned retail stores. Whether it’s training, development, or day-to-day operations, I get to make an impact at scale while still connecting with people on an individual level.
What’s new at 4YOU? We’re growing! While we currently offer Indoor Cycling classes, we’ve started introducing hybrid classes like cycle + upper body and cycle + core. We’re also planning to expand into small group strength training classes soon—another way for us to keep meeting our community where they are, and where they want to go.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Risk-taking, agility, and determination have been the most impactful qualities in my journey—both as a business owner and in my corporate career.
Everything started with risk-taking. I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t taken the leap—whether it was opening 4YOU Cycling or stepping into leadership roles in my career. My advice? Take the risk, take the jump, and show up. You won’t always have all the answers, but that’s where agility comes in.
Agility is what helps you navigate the unknown. When you take risks, curveballs are guaranteed. Things won’t go as planned—but your ability to pivot, reassess, and move forward based on what’s in front of you is what keeps you in the game.
And then there’s determination. There have been so many moments where I’ve asked myself, “Is this the sign to let it go?” But time and again, staying determined has pushed me through. That said, it’s just as important to balance determination with sound decision-making. Know when to pause. Know when to learn from failure. Because that failure? It’s often just the setup for your next success.
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
Fail Until You Don’t” by Bobby Bones played a major role in shaping how I view growth and success. This book really solidified my mindset that failure isn’t the end—it’s just another step toward finding success. It reframed the idea of failure as something necessary, not something to fear. I read it years ago, but it’s stuck with me ever since and I’ve recommended it to many others on their leadership journey. Like I’ve said before, the ability to take risks has been key to getting me where I am today—and this book helped reinforce that belief.
