We recently connected with K S and have shared our conversation below.
K, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I developed my self esteem by practicing my music everyday, performing a lot and going on lives talking to people.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m an artist, producer with M2P Records and CEO of IASB Agency. Being in music is everything to me. Everything about it is exciting from performing and making the music to traveling and meeting new people as well as other creatives. Some accomplishments of mine are that I’ve charted on the I tunes charts, have millions of streams, distribute via Virgin Music Group (UMG). I’ve worked with several major producer from MCV (Megan Thee Stallion), Cas Weinbren (2chainz, Zombies 3), Velvet Cash (DMX). This year I will dropping a new single and performing at bars on the east coast.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Learning the business side is very important because without knowing how to bring in revenue and residuals making a career in music is impossible. Be open to work with people that have major credits and do music as a living. Whether you can meet with them for free or have to pay for a consultation, it’s essential to gain knowledge from someone who is doing what you’re not.
