Meet Kadi Nail

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kadi Nail. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kadi below.

Kadi, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I have always desired to work in healthcare. My mother would always say, “Don’t be the nurse, be the doctor.” I had plans for medical school but decided to switch directions when having a family/life balance was important to me. I researched multiple medical careers before deciding that becoming a Nurse Practitioner would be the perfect fit for myself and my future family. I graduated with my BSN in 2013, MSN-FNP in 2018 and my first NP job was in Arizona working in internal medicine. I lived right on the border of Nevada and quite a bit of patients were turning to cannabis as a supplement. I started researching to educate myself to help and understand how cannabis may be beneficial for patient’s. After moving back to Oklahoma I completed two certification programs focused on treatment of cannabis and then graduated in 2022 with a Master’s in Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. I have a passion for guiding patients on correct usage, dosing and the benefit of Cannabis. I believe natural medicine plays a crucial role in preventing and reversing disease.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and my business is Synergistic Cannabis Consulting. I provide patient evaluations and recommendations for various medical conditions to include but not limited to chronic pain, dementia, autoimmune disorders, cancer, epilepsy, mental health disorders, addiction and autism. Each patient can expect a thorough evaluation, medical review for potential interactions, education on the endocannabinoid system, the type of cannabis and their benefits. Education on the whole plant to include terpenes, flavonoids, phytocannabinoids, choosing the best product, dosage recommendations, route of administration and safety with use. I have loved the opportunity to improve a patient’s quality of life with natural medicine. Cannabis is revolving rapidly and there are many provider’s who do not have education on even the basics of cannabis. I am proud to provide these services. I have also done education sessions with our state program for veterans on the safety and use of cannabis. Future plans for the company include education for healthcare providers and I plan to obtain a Functional Medicine Certificate to expand my services to include herbalism for holistic care.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Knowledge: My healthcare background helped significantly with pharmacology school in understanding how cannabis/herbs interact with the body down to the cellular level.

Qualities: Passion: I am very passionate in contributing and paving the way for natural medicine.
Skills: Education. I am skilled in educating patients on complex topics so they can fully understand their condition(s), how to incorporate cannabis and natural supplements to improve chronic condition’s (diabetes, coronary artery disease, obesity, hypertension, pain), and how to get their life back with proper use of cannabis and its beneficial nature. In addition to other natural products/herbs that are beneficial to health.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
The biggest obstacle is the lack of true medicinal products available. Individuals tend to believe high THC products are best but this is not true for everyone. Processors/dispensaries here in Oklahoma lack true medicinal products especially for vulnerable populations who need to avoid high THC products.
