From birth, I was immersed in a world of stringent beliefs and expectations. Raised in a religious cult, my life was dictated by rules and doctrines that left little room for personal exploration or freedom. At 19, my life took an unexpected turn that would set me on a path toward my true purpose.

I found myself pregnant, a situation deemed unacceptable by the community I was part of. Publicly expelled and shunned for bearing a child out of wedlock, I was left feeling embarrassed, alone, and confused. The foundation of my beliefs had been shattered, and I was cast into a world that I barely understood, isolated from the only life I had ever known.

The ensuing years were a tumultuous journey of self-discovery. Stripped of the rigid structures that had once defined me, I grappled with my identity and my beliefs. It was in this space of vulnerability and uncertainty that I began to seek answers beyond the confines of my former faith. I delved into various spiritual practices, read extensively about higher consciousness and quantum physics, and explored the teachings of diverse philosophical traditions.

Through this exploration, I discovered the profound beauty of spiritual wellness and the transformative power of self-love and acceptance. My journey was not just about finding solace; it was about reclaiming my power and redefining my identity on my terms.

Driven by a desire to create a space where others could embark on similar journeys of self-discovery, I founded The Conscious Soul & Co. This spiritual wellness and beauty business was born from my pain and my healing. It is a sanctuary for those seeking to live a more conscious life, a place where individuals can explore their spirituality without fear of judgment or exclusion.

At The Conscious Soul & Co., we empower individuals to reconnect with their true selves. Through our range of wellness products and services, we aim to nurture the mind, body, and soul, fostering a sense of inner peace and holistic well-being. My journey from rejection and shame to empowerment and self-love has equipped me with the tools and insights to guide others on their paths. My name is Kaela Jonson-Smith, and I’m 25 years old. I was born and raised in the vibrant city of Las Vegas, NV, but my heart has found its true home nestled in the lush, green embrace of the Pacific Northwest, specifically Seattle, WA. Here, I live and thrive, surrounded by nature’s beauty and the city’s creative energy.

I am a proud mama to the most exquisite 5-year-old boy, whose laughter and light fill my days with immeasurable joy. His presence in my life has been a guiding force, inspiring me to pursue my passions and create a life filled with purpose and meaning.
The path to discovering my purpose has been winding and, at times, challenging. At 19, I faced one of the most difficult experiences of my life. Raised in a religious cult with strict doctrines, I found myself publicly expelled for bearing a child out of wedlock. The humiliation and isolation that followed left me feeling lost and confused, questioning everything I had ever known.

Yet, from this place of pain and disarray, I began a profound journey of self-discovery and healing. I immersed myself in the study of spiritual wellness, higher consciousness, and alternative healing practices. It was through this exploration that I found my calling: to create a space where others could embark on their own journeys of self-discovery and healing.

Thus, The Conscious Soul & Co. was born. As the founder and CEO, I am dedicated to empowering individuals to reconnect with their true selves. Our mission is to provide a holistic range of wellness products and alternative healing and beauty services that nurture the mind, body, and soul. Among our offerings, we specialize in Reiki and Reiki Infused Lash Experiences, blending ancient healing techniques with modern beauty practices.

The Conscious Soul & Co. is more than just a business; it is a sanctuary for those seeking to live a more conscious and authentic life. We strive to create an inclusive space where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Through our work, we aim to inspire a deeper connection to oneself and to the world around us.

Seattle, with its welcoming community and natural beauty, has provided the perfect backdrop for this chapter of my life. Here, I continue to grow and evolve, both as a mother and a business leader, dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those I touch.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Reflecting on my journey, three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that seem to have been most impactful are resilience, self-awareness, and a commitment to holistic wellness.

Resilience allowed me to rise above the immense challenges and rejection I faced after being expelled from the religious cult. This quality enabled me to persevere through adversity and transform my pain into purpose.

My journey of self-discovery was rooted in developing a deep understanding of who I am, what I believe in, and what I value. Self-awareness guided me in creating The Conscious Soul & Co., aligning with my most authentic self.

My dedication to holistic wellness, encompassing mind, body, and spirit, was crucial in my healing process and in shaping the services offered by The Conscious Soul & Co.

My overall advice for those early in their journey would be:

Be Patient!
Understand that personal growth and healing are ongoing processes. Be patient with yourself and acknowledge your progress, no matter how small.

Stay open minded!
Keep an open mind to new experiences and ideas. Personal growth often involved stepping outside your comfort zone and embracing the unknown.

Find your community!
Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who share your values and aspirations. A supportive community can provide encouragement, inspiration, and valuable insights.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents ever did for me was to put aside their deeply held religious beliefs and continue to support and love me as their daughter. When I was expelled from the religious cult at 19 for bearing a child out of wedlock, I feared the worst. The community I had known my entire life turned its back on me, and I was left feeling isolated and ashamed. However, my parents’ response was nothing short of miraculous.

Despite the immense pressure from their faith and community, my parents chose love over judgment. They stood by me during the most challenging period of my life, offering unwavering support and compassion. While things were far from easy and we faced many struggles, their continued presence in my life was a beacon of hope.

Their support extended beyond just emotional encouragement. They became my #1 supporters as I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey with The Conscious Soul & Co. Their wisdom and guidance have been invaluable, providing me with the best advice in both life and business. Their belief in my vision and their practical insights have helped shape my business into what it is today.

I am profoundly grateful for their love and support. Without them, my journey would have been much harder, and I might not have had the strength to pursue my dreams. Their decision to embrace me, despite the challenges, has not only strengthened our bond but also taught me the true meaning of unconditional love and support.
