Meet Kait Thomson

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kait Thomson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Kait, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

My strong work ethic comes from a combination of personal values, upbringing, and experiences that have shaped my approach to work and life in general.

Growing up, I witnessed my parents’ dedication and perseverance in their respective careers. Their strong work ethic instilled in me the importance of responsibility, diligence, and commitment to doing the best job you can do, which I take with me in all my projects. From a young age, I was taught that hard work and dedication are essential for achieving success. I learned that consistent effort, hard work and a willingness to put in the extra mile are key to overcoming challenges and accomplishing goals. I am also driven by an intrinsic desire to learn and grow. I am passionate about continuous improvement and strive to be the best version of myself in my professional life. All of this fuels my desire to take on new projects and opportunities to continue to grow my company. iI always am striving to deliver results for my clients that not only meet their exceptions but exceed them.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My primary focus is providing beautiful and fully customizable floral services for my clients, maintaining impeccable client experiences, and growing my personal brand in floral design.
The most rewarding part of my job is when we deliver the final product of florals on our clients special day the look of pure happiness and amazement that we have exceeded their expectations. Knowing that we are part of our couples days in some way is so special.
We have recently launched a landscaping/garden design division of our company which has been very rewarding to work with our clients on their yards and gardens and are very much looking forward to growing this area of the business.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

1. Being flexible with clients, for most our clients this is the first time they have ever gone through the process of planning a wedding so ideas change, being flexible has proven to make our clients very happy in the end.

2. There is always things to be learned, Every event we do there is something we learn and take with us for the next one.

3. Hire hard working staff, you may think in the beginning you can do things on your own and thats a great way to start but eventually hire staff who work hard and like what they do it will make your job so much easier

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?

Right now social media and marketing is a big challenge for me. In the past instagram has proven to be very helpful in gaining clients but with new algorithm changes I have seen a decrease in inquiries, followers and overall interaction. Marketing in general is a tough area and one that is extremely overwhelming as to where to start.
