We were lucky to catch up with Kaitlin Jaramillo recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaitlin, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
On a daily basis I am put in front of people who come from all walks to life, I’ve been able to listen and communicate with people to make them feel comfortable with me. I’ve help a lot of people and built tons of new friendships which has given me confidence everyday which has continued to grow.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a mother of two, Maxwell & Phoenix and married to my husband Josh going on 12 years now. I work full time as the Veterans of Foreign wars Service officer and have my own hair bow business. I have been with the VFW for the last 12 years helping veterans and dependents file for their disability benefits. Knowing what these people have gone through to serve our Country makes me proud to be in this position. I started my bow business in 2019 when my daughter was born. I originally started out only making stuff for her but had some friends encourage to me to start my business. I haven’t stopped since. I’ve been a part of the Railyards market for the last 4 years where I sell full season this market brings more than 100,000 people annually. I also do Albuquerque Comic Con.
As far as my hair bow business I’m always looking to add more things to keep building and showing my creative side. A lot of my customers know me for my custom cat ears and logo that is an animation of me. I like to think outside of the box and offer your not so “normal” type bows and accessories. I’m always up for a challenge or custom!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Having self discipline, focus and creativity. Advice I would give is to find something that they really love to do and pursue it.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
My biggest area of growth has been building my business while maintaining my family.
