Meet Kaitlyn Andrew

We recently connected with Kaitlyn Andrew and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaitlyn, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
Recently, I experienced some personal challenges that led me into a MAJOR RESET. I am now refreshing, refocusing and prioritizing my self-care. When I practice self-care, I am more effective. Without it, I crumble. I have become more consistent and disciplined with my routine around nourishing my body with healthy meals and exercising often. My sleep has improved as a result of practicing deeply spiritual prayers, meditation and journaling. I stay well-connected because we each have our own Bold Journey to experience. Understanding what others are going through gives me perspective. Maintaining friendships with people whom I love, admire and trust has been more valuable than gold. I am always striving to grow and improve. This year, I have taken more training in acting and modeling to develop my skills and it has paid off tremendously by opening up new opportunities.

I’ve learned to say no to what I don’t want, in order to say YES! to what I want. I create my life. Self-care is a mindset, and it means that I matter. When I am able to show up realizing that I am worthy and I am valuable, I can bring out the best in others.

Things I am working on now especially are rewiring my thoughts, cultivating self-awareness and creating changes, allowing myself to grow and heal. Aromatherapy, hot baths and cuddling up with a good book. I’ve also created a new environment for myself where I can thrive. Taking a walk every day, staying hydrated, and learning to love this new version of myself.

Self-care is important because I can’t pour from an empty cup. The better I am taking care of myself, the more I have to give. I am kinder to others when I am first kind, loving and compassionate towards myself.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

My name is Kaitlyn Andrew. I am originally from Northeast Ohio and currently living in Orange County, California. I’ve been modeling professionally since 2019. This includes everything from fashion shows to working with brands. Additionally, I am a mother, published author, world traveler and have an MBA. I am working hard to delve deeper into acting which was my original passion before being scouted as a model. I will be featured in the release of Big Bang Betty 2 and am cast in Big Bang Betty 3. Stay tuned for my breakthrough on IMDB. I’m very excited about this. Definitely check it out if you like action films. As a lifelong learner, I am always working hard to level up my skills and stay in development. Professionally, I am focused on upcoming agency meetings, photoshoots and more. I enjoy being a part of this industry because I get to work with brilliant, creative minds and together, we ignite new ideas that can truly change the world. Please reach out to me for paid projects. I love working with talented people.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My top three qualities are determination, consistency and perseverance. The greater the difficulty, the more glory surmounting it, I am determined to succeed in this industry and have not allowed things like fear and geography to stand in my way. My best advice for people with fear and anxiety is to do it anyway. Feelings are not facts. There is a reason Nike’s slogan is, ‘Just Do It!’ After I accomplish something challenging, it feels exhilarating. Despite any hardships and setbacks, I keep moving forward. Consistency is huge for me and has looked different at times. I do the best I can each day to improve. I’ve stopped comparing myself and instead looked more deeply within and closely at what I am doing to show up each day. No matter what, I do the best I can and am committed to keep showing up and keep improving.

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
Capitalize on strengths. By investing my time and energy into my talents, (specifically modeling and acting) I am able to hone in and take those to the next level. I really have a shot at it, if I give my all. We may not have been given the life we want. Instead of getting stuck in that loop, I tell myself to do the best I can with what I have where I am. Things will be different in a few days, weeks, months and years. When I cultivate a deeper appreciation of my strengths and build on those, it feels more natural and flows. I have grown to appreciate myself for who I am and accept that I am a work in progress. When I’ve focused more specifically and gone all in on my strengths, it has provided better luck and greater success. Less is more.

A personal example from my childhood is playing sports. I participated in many different activities. Volleyball, soccer, dance, and cheerleading, to name a few. In high school, I ended up doing cross country. I was the worst person on the team. It was awkward and embarrassing. Because I chose one thing and stuck with it, today I have run countless races and even placed first in an LA race. I continue to run faster than I ever have. If I had chosen to continue dabbling in all different things, I may have given up and gotten nowhere at all. I keep my goals clear in my mind and work hard to achieve them.
