We were lucky to catch up with Kaitlyn Baker recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kaitlyn, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
We were luckily exposed to our faith at a young age and I truly believe it helped us pave our future. God not only provided us with a beautiful family but he also gave us hope in our darkest moments. Having a business is not easy and after getting married we finally decided to take the leap of faith together. It will never be perfect but we would not change the time we get to spend together teaching our daughter what hard work is for anything. We have poured everything we have into our business praying that we will make it successful enough to provide for our family and each day you all are making that possible. Every inquiry to booking means the absolute world to us, and we can never thank you all enough.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Hey there, we’re the Bakers!
We value authentic moments, raw emotions, and quality. We strive to ensure every client is treated as uniquely as they are, and that they are provided with a professional but family like session. We promise this will be one session you never forget! We are also an award winning and published commercial photography business that is based out of Gatlinburg Tennessee, but don’t worry we are always ready to travel wherever the adventure calls us!. We truly enjoy working with our clients to create magical portraits that will last a lifetime.
We are excited to announce that we are adding more studio sessions especially for our mini sessions and that we have 10% off our current wedding collections and family sessions! As for whats coming we hope to be expanding our client closets and very soon an actual studio in town so you’ll be able to stop in and say hi to your favorite photography family!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
First and foremost practice makes perfect! If you want to improve and go further we truly believe you need to practice practice practice! There is never a good reason to stop learning especially if you expect to grow. Everyday is a great day to get up and believe in yourself because if you don’t how can you expect anyone else to? You have to attack everyday like a new challenge and you will be the winner! Nothing worth it will be an easy accomplishment, but you will feel so much better for not giving up once you reach that goal you set so long ago. We all have an area we could improve on, and my personal worst is marketing. I know what it takes but finding the time in our busy schedule makes it seem impossible at times. However, I truly believe that we need to take life day by day and watch our growth as we slowly improve.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I begin to feel overwhelmed or an anxiety attack coming on I submerge in nature or music both with prayer of course. The world has a way of making us feel so alone and vulnerable but the truth is everyone around is suffering in their own way about things unknown to us. The best we can do is find the best coping mechanism for us and then share what we have learned with anyone willing to listen. There are many people these days preaching and scaring people into coming to God in fear instead of spreading the unconditional love that he has for all of us. It is so important to remember we are not alone and that we do not need to face these world issues small or large by ourselves. We are the village, we are the church, it is up to us to continue to show the world just how much God can truly help especially when it comes to feeling anxious or becoming overwhelmed.
