Meet Kaitlyn Gallaher

We were lucky to catch up with Kaitlyn Gallaher recently and have shared our conversation below.

Kaitlyn, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

I keep my creativity alive by not pushing myself and taking breaks when I need it. I’ve noticed when I push myself too much I tend to burn out quicker. There is days where I feel like I never want to touch social media ever again. Being in the business of social media it’s 24/7 so I remind myself it’s okay to have “creator’s block” or feel stuck. I end up giving it a few days and then I get back up and just go for it.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

I started my career when I was 16. I didn’t even know what influencers were or how social media could have a huge impact on people’s lives. My family friend approached me and asked “I want to become an influencer do you want to help”? I literally had no idea what I was doing but I ended up loving it. Brittany Lyons (my family friend), still continues to create authentic content for her followers. She is the reason why my interest in social media sparked and I owe a lot of thanks to her. I went to college and worked numerous paid and unpaid internships, random jobs at the college for social media experience. I landed a job in the talent agency world after graduation and fell in love with the work and working with content creators. I moved on to working for myself with freelance and then creating my business KG Social. My business is a digital content agency where I help creators with anything they can think of with social media production. I do anything from scheduling to content curation. I love meeting new creators and learning a strategy to help their platform grow even more.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

The three qualities I have that is the most impactful to my journey was my self-reliance, being determined, and taking it head on. If you’re looking to be in the Social Media industry or Content Production industry here is my advice. You need to lean into your strengths and don’t let anyone tell you, you can’t do it. So many people had said that Social Media/Content Production was not a good field to be in, that it’s hard to find a job and it will just run your life. That’s not true. Don’t be scared to take the risks big or small to grow yourself and your career.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

My door is always open to partner and collaborate with. I’m looking for Influencers/Content Creators that need help with content strategy, social media management or content production, If you are someone who is looking for these services you can email me at Kaitlyngsocial@gmail.com.
