Meet Kaitlyn Jones

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kaitlyn Jones. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Kaitlyn, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

Growing up my parents taught me the importance of working hard and having a good work ethic. They frequently used the phrase “work hard now and it will pay off later in life”. In addition to having a good work ethic they taught so many valuable aspects of life I am very grateful for.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

My name is Kaitlyn Jones, and I am the owner of Think Clean Services. I made my way into the cleaning industry after 10 years of the restaurant and hotel setting. While I loved being a waitress and serving others I knew that I had a bigger calling. I tried to go a few different routes for my career but none of them sticked. A little bit of a back story, I have always loved cleaning and organizing for myself and for others. When I was younger I would clean to earn money and also spend hours cleaning and organizing my room. In my early 20’s I would help clean for a few realtors in my area. I was waitressing full time so the cleanings were just extra income. They would always compliment my work, tell me how well I clean and suggested I start a cleaning business. I didn’t think much of it at the time and never saw myself actually pursuing the cleaning industry as a career. Years went by and I continued in hospitality but wanted to work more during the day so I started cleaning residential and airbnb. I made a name for myself as a solo cleaner and was working everyday, cleaning 1-2 houses during the day and waitressing at night. This went on for a few years until I finally decided to leave the restaurant industry for good and pursue my business completely. That is when Think Clean Services was created. We provide janitorial/commercial cleaning to businesses, including floor buffing, window cleaning and carpet cleaning. We give office and facility managers the reassurance they need by taking care of their cleaning, allowing them to concentrate on their core responsibilities at work. This creates a better work environment for both employees and customers. What sets us apart from other companies is that our customers satisfaction is top priority. We put a priority on quality control, ease of communication, reliability and trust. We are very grateful for all of our clients and look forward to servicing them for the years to come.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Looking back, the three qualities or areas of knowledge that had the most impact on my journey are:

1. Optimism: Starting a new business and being a business owner is never easy, each day is faced with new challenges. I believe that maintaining a positive outlook on my company’s future is very important. This means that I am using a positive mindset to motivate my team, persevere through setbacks, adapt to change, and believe in the company’s potential for growth and expansion. In result, I believe this will foster a positive work environment and will reveal my companies core values to my clients.

2. Attention to detail: The cleaning industry as a whole is not just about delivering high quality cleaning but doing it consistently. This is one of the key qualities that has helped my business grow. Having the attention to detail, being meticulous, and providing the industries highest level of cleaning for each client no matter the size of the contract. This has helped build the reputation of Think Clean Services and has had a positive impact with client retention, long term relationships and company referrals.

3. Strong work ethic: Its so important, especially in the commercial cleaning industry to keep a strong work ethic. Taking pride in your work and the quality of your results is definitely something that doesn’t go unnoticed. It reflects on the character of the business owner, the cleaner, and the company’s core values. Because I am a firm believer in strong work ethic and implementing it into my business, it has made a positive impact on the growth of Think Clean Services.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

Yes absolutely! I am always looking for people to partner or collaborate with. I believe networking is very important for one’s business and future. Of course I would want to collaborate with others in the commercial cleaning industry, however, I am open to collaborating with any business owners. I enjoy hearing other peoples stories and journeys and would be honored to network. If you are reading this and want to collaborate you can reach out to me via Instagram or email (located on my website).
