Hi Kajohnae, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?
Self-care is something I view as both a personal necessity and a professional responsibility. I make it a priority to nurture my physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being so that I can remain effective and consistent in all areas of my life. My self-care routine includes journaling to release stress and maintain clarity of thought, exercising and walking to strengthen my body and boost energy, and eating nutrient-rich foods to fuel both my health and focus. I also incorporate rest, prayer, and meditation into my days, which keeps me spiritually grounded and emotionally balanced.
The impact of these practices has been transformative. They allow me to manage stress in healthier ways, make sounder business decisions, and maintain the creativity and discipline needed to lead my company. By caring for myself first, I am able to pour into others with intention—whether that’s through the products I create, the relationships I build with customers, or the leadership I provide within my business. Self-care has ultimately become the foundation that sustains my effectiveness, resilience, and long-term growth.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My journey began with a passion for beauty and wellness and a vision to create products that truly make a difference in people’s lives. I am the founder and CEO of 24K Haircare Products, LLC, a brand dedicated to promoting healthy hair, scalp wellness, and self-confidence. What started as a personal mission to create effective, natural solutions has evolved into a thriving business that serves a wide community of men and women who want to care for their hair without compromising quality or integrity.
What excites me most about my work is the transformation I get to witness—not only in how people’s hair grows and thrives, but also in how they feel about themselves after using my products. For many of my customers, it goes beyond haircare; it’s about healing, confidence, and reclaiming a sense of pride in their natural beauty. That personal connection and impact are what make my brand so special.
24K Haircare is unique because it is built on authenticity, resilience, and faith. I started this company from the ground up—literally selling products out of my backpack and car trunk—and through dedication and perseverance, I’ve grown it into a line that is trusted by salons, stylists, braiders, and everyday people alike. Each product is carefully crafted with natural ingredients to address real issues such as alopecia, postpartum shedding, dry scalp, and overall hair health.
Currently, my focus is on expanding the reach of 24K Haircare. We’ve recently introduced new skincare additions such as fragrance moisturizing butter bars, foaming sugar scrubs, and body oils, which reflect our commitment to wellness from head to toe. We are also preparing for larger distribution opportunities with beauty supply chains, which will allow us to serve even more communities.
At the heart of it all, 24K Haircare is not just a brand—it’s a movement that empowers individuals to embrace patience, consistency, and self-love in their hair and wellness journeys. My ultimate goal is to leave behind a legacy of resilience, quality, and inspiration for the next generation of entrepreneurs.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, there are three qualities that have been the most impactful in my journey: resilience, adaptability, and vision.
Resilience has carried me through the toughest seasons. Entrepreneurship is filled with challenges—financial setbacks, delayed opportunities, and moments of doubt. What kept me going was the ability to remain steadfast, lean on my faith, and find strength in the belief that temporary obstacles do not define my final destination.
Adaptability has also been essential. The beauty industry is constantly evolving, and so are the needs of customers. Learning how to adjust, whether it was in product development, marketing strategies, or managing operations, has allowed me to grow instead of becoming stagnant. Flexibility opened doors to opportunities I may have missed if I had been unwilling to pivot.
Lastly, vision has been my guiding light. From the very beginning, I had to be able to see beyond my current circumstances and imagine what my business could become. That vision kept me motivated when resources were limited and when the path forward wasn’t clear. It also helped me make decisions aligned with the bigger picture, rather than just focusing on short-term results.
For those just starting their journey, my advice is this: resilience can be developed by learning to embrace failure as part of growth, not as a setback. See every challenge as a lesson. Adaptability comes from being willing to learn and staying open-minded. Invest time in research, listen to your customers, and don’t be afraid to try new approaches. Vision requires quiet time to reflect and dream. Write down your goals, revisit them often, and allow them to evolve as you grow.
If you can strengthen these three qualities early on, you’ll not only endure the journey but also thrive in it.

Earlier this year, in March, I sent presentation boxes to these potential partners. Each box was thoughtfully designed—a gold box with my acrylic logo centered on top—and contained full-size 16-ounce jars and bottles of our signature products: the 24K Clarifying & Stimulating Shampoo, the 24K Hair Masque, and the 24K Hair Growth Oil. Alongside the products, I included a distributor catalog to provide a full overview of the line. I also mailed follow-up letters to maintain communication, though I have not yet received a response.
Nyakio was kind enough to respond to one of my Instagram posts and mentioned that she passed my presentation box to her distributor. Unfortunately, I have not yet heard from them, but I remain optimistic. I understand how busy industry leaders and companies can be, and I believe that persistence, professionalism, and timing play a key role in securing the right opportunities.
