We recently connected with Kalin Wiggins and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Kalin with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I think I get my work ethic from seeing how things could be in the future depending on the opportunity. I have always been goal driven & i say pretty hard headed in a good way, I don’t like quitting anything I start no matter how long it may take.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Wassup everyone! I have my hands in a few things, one of the longest running passions I’ve had is my photography. I’ve been doing this for about 12 years now and advanced my skill set a bit more during the last 3-4 years. A dream I have is to open my own photography studio for other creatives to come curate their works as well. I’m also a podcaster, I’m the creator of the Jin & Juice Podcast where we discuss topics relevant to today’s age in media as well as giving spotlight to other creatives, artists and business owners. I’m also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and have been serving my community during my time as a member.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1) Never be the loudest in the room. It’s always best to be the first to listen as opposed to respond in certain situations. I’ve been big on listening to receive information alot of my time so when the time to respond does come, I’d rather be the most knowledgeable than the fool.
2) Timing is everything. I’m not really into destiny as much but I feel like there’s a time for everyone. If you have a dream and it’s taking a while for it to be achieved, it’s coming continue investing your time in it. You learn to appreciate it when your moment is here. Helps out my patience in life greatly.
3) Stay consistent. I’ve always heard throughout my lifetime “never give up on your dreams,” “if I can make it, so can you.” Hearing that I always thought it was just something to say, but as I grew older I understood the thing that made these words hold more weight. That thing was consistency, all you have to do is show up and show others this is what you do. It’s like watering a plant, if you can’t consistently take care of this plant it dies. Maintain taking care of this plant (dream) & you’ll see the seeds start to flourish.

What is the number one obstacle or challenge you are currently facing and what are you doing to try to resolve or overcome this challenge?
I think the biggest obstacle for me in my life right now would be trying to find more than the 24 hours we have provided to us haha. I never feel as though there is enough time in the day, and I guess that’s my fault in being invested in several different things. However, I’ve had to teach myself that Rome wasn’t built in a day. Some things require time and that’s just the beauty of it as well. Can your patience and work ethic collaborate to create something worth wild or are you too excited to go through the steps to that destination/goal.
