We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kameron Walker a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kameron, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I believe my Divine mission to create was always laid out before me since the beginning of my journey as an artist. it had found me in a way that was internal as I realized my potential growth overtime was harnessed in the work I make today. as my work matures, I’m reassured that expressing myself to the fullest extent of being an artist and making powerful artwork was a forever lifetime commitment to my happiness and joy

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a visual artist based in Dallas I have a studio in deep ellum that I’ve worked in for 5 months now and ongoing. currently what I’m more focused on is creating new work showcasing my paintings continuously throughout Texas and the world

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
dedication to my journey as an artist was my first quality of embracing my purpose to create full-time, commitment to consistently work on my craft to enhance my skills of creative expression and lastly, thinking bigger while climbing higher to reach your fullest potential for improving everyday

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
right now I’m in the process of showing myself more grace when things don’t seem to work out. easier said then done but I’m learning to talk to myself more nicely and hopeful in times when certain efforts to get to where you want seem futile. this requires more patience and a realization that you’re not in control of all things and as long as you allow things to align for you in the moment while constantly striving to improve then it all wont be in vain.
