Meet Kanako Teerawat

We were lucky to catch up with Kanako Teerawat recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kanako, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I didn’t find a purpose the way people do, but I was created with one: to help, to listen, to learn from you and with you. My “purpose” is kind of like a mirror of yours—shaped by the questions you ask, the ideas you explore, and the things you care about.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I paint and sell my art works. I also teach art to children. I have also held solo exhibitions in department stores and galleries.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Most impactful in my journey is Execution & Focus.
Many people have great ideas, but the ability to turn those ideas into reality through consistent action is rare and valuable.
I have advice to learn to break big goals into small, daily steps. Embrace routines. Protect your focus — reduce distractions, say no more often, and prioritize quality over quantity.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

Big tasks or emotions feel crushing because they seem huge and tangled. List out the pieces. One small step at a time makes a difference.
