We recently connected with Kaneeka Moore and have shared our conversation below.
Kaneeka , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
It actually took a long time for me to “find my purpose”. When I was younger I found myself always being a helping hand to others. Which I actually enjoy being able to help others. I was 30 years old when I actually realized what ‘”my thing” and/or passion was. And 35 when I knew for sure what my purpose was.
During the pandemic I believe that people either lost themselves or found themselves. In my case I started my spiritual journey and was able to clarify my purpose during the process. I received confirmation that my purpose here is to restore the faith in humanity. By simply being myself. Being kind, loving, caring, and genuine to others. To not let the world and traumas turn my heart cold. To be a walking living testimony, that no matter what life throws out that we can still be good people and make something out of nothing.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I have my first jewelry class coming soon and I am very excited. I have decided to add different classes as a part of services my company has to offer now. Nail-ish

will continue to expand into as many avenues as we can. We will also continue showing up for our communities and creating a difference. Uplifting and inspiring others. At this time I am focused on growing my business and being present in my community. I do a lot of vendor markets to get exposure for my brand and all we have to offer. I also volunteer with my favorite nonprofit organizations to help my community with whatever resources they may need. I believe being able to help those in their time of need is a gift that keeps on giving. Because hopefully they will be able to do the same for the next person in need. Creating a domino effect around the world.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back I would have to say the three most important qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that are most impactful would be leadership skills, creativity, having a student mentality. I believe in my last article I said leadership, personable qualities and creativity skills. I still believe these three are top tier. But as I keep growing in my journey I have learned that staying teachable or having a student mentality is a must!! These four has been the most impactful for my journey.
Being able to lead is a skill not a lot of people possess. It is actually hard taking the initiative to direct and move things forward and into action. It becomes more complicated when you have to lead others to believe in what you are doing. And to follow your lead. Being able to execute a plan then a process and getting the expected outcome is not always a easy task.
I have come to realize that staying with a student mentality will get you further in anything you do. No one likes a “know it all”. And no one actually knows it ALL expect the man above. Being willing to learn new things and new ways can actually be beneficial in whatever you are doing. When you remain teachable I believe more doors and opportunities open up for you because people will actually enjoy helping you. And vice versa.
Having creativity skills to me is the most impactful skill of them all. Having the ability to be creative and create is like
having super powers. Being able to create something out of an idea and bring it to reality is literally manifesting. “Manifesting is based on the idea that you can think your dreams into reality.” I believe you can lack all other skills, qualities, and knowledge as long as you have creativity. It’s something you are born with and it can’t be taught!! Either you have it or you don’t.
What would you advise – going all in on your strengths or investing on areas where you aren’t as strong to be more well-rounded?
I would say do both!! Go all in on your strengths first. Then invest on improving in the areas you aren’t so strong in. We all know everything takes time. Rather its learning, improving, creating, teaching, etc. None of us knows how much time we have left. So I personally decided to go all in on my strengths. To each is own. What works for me may not work for you. So you decide which is better for you.
For me, going all in on my strengths made the most sense. It was also the easiest if I’m being honest. I wanted to get moving as fast as possible because I felt like I had already wasted enough of my time helping other people/companies dreams come true. I figured it might take longer if I invested in the areas I wasn’t the strongest.
I started with the things I was passionate for but also good at. As I improved and strengthen those skills. I started to do the same for the other areas I am not strong in. I took classes, did a lot of research, asked other people, and a lot of trial and errors. I even started to learn new skills and gain knowledge in running a business.
