Meet Kaneeka Moore

We were lucky to catch up with Kaneeka Moore recently and have shared our conversation below.

Kaneeka , thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?

I keep my creativity alive by being inspired by EVERYTHING around me. I use the people and things that are in or happening in my life as my motivation to create magic. I love transmuting negative energy and negative situations into something beautiful and positive. I am able to create regardless of my mood or situation. I created when I am happy, sad, upset, etc. I get different results from creating from different spaces and energies I create from.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

Hello world, my name is Kaneeka S Moore, but I like to go by K, just the letter. I am a licensed nail artist, Big Black Woman Business owner, crafty creative, fashion stylist, jewelry designer, and the list goes on lol. Just call me what my sister says, a Jackie if All Trades. I am a multifaceted creative and business owner, passionate about expressing myself through art, fashion, and beauty. During the pandemic, I saw an opportunity to pivot and create products, which led to the development of my custom press-on nails line. Which soon after lead to me moving away from services to products.

Recently, I’ve been working on new product launches and exploring opportunities for growth. My goal is to continue creating and sharing my art while building a community that celebrates individuality and self-expression. I’m excited about what’s next and grateful for the journey so far.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

Looking back on my journey, I believe the three most impactful qualities and skills that have helped me are:

Authenticity and Being True to Myself: Embracing who I am and expressing my unique style has set me apart. My advice for others is to never be afraid to stand out and to stay true to your authentic self. When you create from a genuine place, your work resonates more deeply with others.

Resilience and Perseverance: Running a business, especially as a solo entrepreneur, has been filled with ups and downs. My ability to keep going despite setbacks—whether financial, marketing, or operational—has been crucial. For those starting out, I’d say develop resilience by viewing failures as lessons. Keep pushing forward, and don’t be discouraged by obstacles.

Creativity and Adaptability: My ability to adapt—pivoting from services to products, launching new lines, and continuously reimagining my brand—has kept me relevant and inspired. To grow in this area, I recommend staying curious, exploring new ideas, and being open to change. Creativity thrives when you remain adaptable and willing to take risks

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

Yes, I am definitely open to partnering and collaborating with others! I’m looking for folks who share a passion for creativity, self-expression, and authenticity—whether that’s in fashion, beauty, art, or entrepreneurship. I’d love to connect with individuals or brands who value uniqueness and want to create something special together.

If you’re interested in collaborating, whether it’s for marketing, product development, events, or creative projects, please reach out! You can connect with me through my social media platforms or email [email protected] and let’s see how we can bring our visions together. I believe in building genuine relationships and creating magic through collaboration!
