Meet Karah M Vanhoose

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Karah M Vanhoose. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Karah M , really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?

I didn’t. My purpose found me. I believe we are all born with that innate thing we are supposed to be doing. However, it takes faith to blindly begin doing what you feel deeply in your soul to do. Once, you begin your journey; God will send the right like minded people to assist in the journey.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

My passion, my baby and my joy is the purpose God has given me and that is “Xtreme Dreams Foundation of ATLANTA” here in Georgia. My foundation is church, and then as a youth it was my safe space. We were around individuals that really had our best interest at heart. Today, we don’t have that organic safe place or space for youth or their families as much. I have and want to create that place through my actual vendor venue business North Atlanta Events and beginning 2025 “Upside Down” North Atlanta Events. We are headed to the south side to create more wholesome entertaining events for the entire family.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Oh wow!!!! The first quality was learning to discern who was really for me, and who was only jumping on this journey to success for a come up. Basically, using my platform to elevate their own agenda. I had to learn not to accept everyone just because they said “I love what your doing in the community”. However, really see what their true intentions are and were. Second, patience is truly a virtue in anything you do. I have learned not to jump into opportunities so quickly, but to maximize the ones I do leap into. Finally, always be honest with your clientele, customer base and/or organization. Honesty in fact does go a long way when it comes to developing relationships with people.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?

I completely stop! I love taking on new assignments, goals and projects. Lol, maybe a little too much at times. Have you ever heard the saying “an idle mind is the devils workshop”? I guess I live upto the saying because I am constantly doing something. Honestly, I love being creative. It brings me joy, but at times I can overwhelm myself. It is during those times I just completely stop, and then really prioritize and focus on the most important assignment for that moment.
