Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Karina Evans. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Karina, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
When writing on a deadline, it’s sometimes difficult to find my creative spark because I feel pressure to deliver within a time-crunch. In order to keep creativity alive during those, I allow myself the freedom to take breaks from my project and enjoy a variety of other creative endeavors that can shift my focus while also having fun. For example, if I’m not feeling creative while writing, I’ll switch gears and try a sewing project or a new baking recipe. I find that when I return to my original project, I’ll have a fresh perspective and new ideas because i allowed myself to dabble in a different creative headspace. I also find it useful to go on a walk or run when I’m not feeling creative because the physical activity helps my brain fire off new ideas.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Persistent, Adaptable, Curious.
If you have a goal, it is easier to achieve with enthusiastic persistence. There will always be obstacles in getting what you want, but your persistence is what will help you endure and reach your goals. Sometimes, you goal or the path to reaching it will change. When that happens, it is important to be adaptable without sacrificing your desires and beliefs. No matter the path to your goal, it is Important to be earnestly curious. Curiosity is the key to leveling-up in your achievements.
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
My parents read to me when I was a kid! This instilled a love for books and stories in me that sparked my desire to become a children’s author.
