Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Karina Falcon. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Karina, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I’m mexican! I have a very big family that supports me, and grew up with aunts, cousins and neighbors that nurture me and cheered me up. I also have a very sacred conexion to Earth Mother as a living being. For me is normal to lay down near the ocean, do stargazing or take a pause to be in awe with Nature’s beauty to cope with everyday stressors. As Mexican Im very aware of the time of the seasonal wheel, I celebrate Candlemass, el Día de la Cruz, el Día de San Juan, Día de Muertos y Adviento. I feel a strong conexion and support from the rhythm of nature. I learned to embrace change all the time, due to guerrillas, inner conflicts and economic “crisis I had to build a very creative thinking. Also we have a very authentic sense of community and friendship, here you can visit your best friend any time to be listened and heard. It is normal to do usual emotional check-points with your friends via whats app. To ask “¿Cómo estás hoy?” – “¿Cómo va todo por allá?” Being resilient is part of our culture.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Mexican Transgenerational Consultant, Writer, Poet and Editor centered in the Sacred Feminine Wisdom. I have been practicing the way of the Medicine Wheel from ancestral medicine such as traditional mexican healing, astrology, native
american and maya-tolteca spirituality for about 17 years. I also have studies in English Literature, Transgenerational
Philosophy and Family Constellations. In 2013 I founded Mujer Lunar a portal for Spanish speaker women who wanted to
explore their sacredness through Ancestral Feminine Wisdom and Visionary tools that help them be grounded while weaving
their heart’s intent in form of projects and entrepreneurial deeds; and in 2016 I co-founded Carpa Lunar a school in which
indigenous teachings, familly constellations work and astrology is held in every course and training. In 2024 we are going to launch a very ambitious program that will make a revolution in the Sacred Feminine Field
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
From 2012 to 2015 in Oaxaca I designed and provided several workshops for midwives in the ancestral tradition, giving maya-tolteca spiritual principles of post-partum, birth and pregnancy. I learned in a very profound and sacred way how to honor life, birth, and weave heart-centered communities. I can really perceive that here and now we need
First: to place Life and Heart at the center of our social work in order to avoid burn out and resist external agendas that want to drag us down.
Second: honor the internal capacity people have to engage in a project
Third: Elicitate inspiring action and be proactive
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Id love to collaborate with other social workers, dream builders and inner fire guardians working with English-Spanish speaking communities of children from the Diaspora. Because I do believe that Diaspora children are seeds and connecting with their roots help them to provide their sacred message without burning themselvs in the intent.
