We were lucky to catch up with Karina Muller and Lana Gendlin Brooks recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Karina Muller and Lana Gendlin Brooks, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
Our ability to take risks comes from our curiosity about what is possible. When we plan for the future of our businesses, we imagine all the glorious options that are available to us. Through the practice of envisioning what is possible, we determine what next steps are necessary to move our businesses and ourselves forward.
Once we visualize potential next steps, we tune into our intuitive guidance to help us prioritize and navigate. Our intuition is our superpower. When we tap into all the guidance that is already available to us from within, we realize that what appears as risk can be transformed into opportunity. But the crucial step to developing the ability to take risk is to trust your intuition and take action. Know that what is meant for you will not escape you and that even if a situation doesn’t work out the way you envisioned it, there is no failure, only learning. We use the term “redirection” instead of failure. This paradigm makes it a lot easier to take risks.
Our advice to anyone who’s considering taking a risk is to tune into their intuition and allow the guidance to show up. Our intuitive guidance works in our favor. It wants us to succeed. So when we allow that voice to come through, we also allow miracles and magic to show up as well.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
We are Karina Muller and Lana Gendlin Brooks, Co-Founders of HeartCentric LLC, which includes two businesses: HeartCentric Divine Creations and HeartCentric Coaching Collaborative. We are both certified life coaches and jewelry artisans, as well as entrepreneurs who turned our creative outlet and passion for making pendulums and other spiritual jewelry into a major component of our business strategy.
Pendulums are weighted tools that help you connect with your intuition and access information buried in your subconscious mind. They are powerful, tactile tools that we can see and feel working with our own energy. The pendulum is often likened to that of a radio transmitter. It’s a conduit that carries information from your subconscious mind and connects with your heart, where your intuition resides. It then transfers that information to create a physical and visual movement to answer Yes and No questions. These movements are minuscule and involuntary, thereby bypassing your rational mind. This unlocks the true nature of your intuition and allows you to source your own answers from yourself, versus an external source such as the internet, friends, or family. It’s your truth, coming from you.
We have learned from working with thousands of clients that when everything feels confusing and people are searching for help but don’t know where to go, the pendulum is the perfect tool that allows our intuition to find the answers. Pendulums have been around for centuries, yet most people know little to nothing about their use and value. We believe this ancient tool belongs in the modern world, especially as we leave old, outdated dogmas behind.
One of our goals is to bring valuable information about pendulums to the masses. There is no better time to bring awareness of this tool to light —for healing, for navigating life’s ups and downs, and most of all for empowering people to live their best life. We are demystifying and destigmatizing this tool by normalizing it and bringing it into the mainstream. We are on a mission to share how anyone seeking clarity, wisdom, and guidance can work with pendulums for success — whether in business, relationships, health, or life in general.
In our coaching practice, we empower our clients to look within and utilize their intuition to find the answers they seek for themselves. We realized that the pendulum is the perfect tool to help people connect to the guidance already inside of them with authenticity—something that we honor and strive to teach our coaching clients. We also offer our customers options to go deeper with their pendulum studies through our group and one-on-one coaching offerings.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The first skill is to learn to trust yourself. Our family and friends are usually well-intentioned when they share their guidance and advice. But only you know what is best for you. Listen to the voice inside of you very carefully and trust it. This is your path to happiness, joy, and fulfillment of your purpose.
The second skill is to clarify your values and align them with those you work with for collaboration and optimal results. We are 50/50 partners in our business and we seek to get aligned on all business matters, big or small. We are blessed that we are so deeply aligned in bringing our mission to life, which is to “empower people to connect to their intuition with the help of a pendulum.” Because of our alignment, goals, and values, we are able to navigate through difficult conversations and tough decisions. Whether you work with a business partner or a team, it is all about creating an environment of collaboration and trust, and that starts with understanding your values.
The third skill, or quality, is to ensure that your work brings you joy. This is so crucial. When you are authentically eager to work on your business, you know that you’re on the right path. We both get really excited when we have an opportunity to connect with our customers face-to-face, coach, and/or educate them. It never gets old! What we do brings us great joy and happiness and we wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

We are committed to reaching as many people as we can through our mission. Our book Pendulums & Intuition: Practical Advice for Trusting Your Inner Wisdom is being published by Llewellyn Worldwide in June 2024 (available for preorder now). Currently, we are in the process of creating a worldwide community of like-minded individuals who are excited to tap into the power of their intuition with the help of a pendulum. We’re also developing online classes and giving presentations about the topic of intuition and pendulums.
