Meet Karinna Fischer

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Karinna Fischer . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Karinna, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
If I am being completely honest, imposter syndrome is something that I still struggle with from time to time. I believe it is a common struggle for any artist, and even more so now with social media being such a heavy influence in our world. It is too easy to compare ourselves to others when we have been trained to only see the “good days” plastered on a screen. I try my best to focus on the work that I do, how it makes me feel, and the feedback that I receive from my guests. My clients play a big part in my confidence behind the chair, and I am eternally grateful for their loyalty and support.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I specialize in vivid and custom color and cut creations. Our hair can be one of the greatest assets that contribute to our confidence and identity. I strive to help others express themselves while igniting their confidence from the inside out, all while providing a relaxing, one-of-a-kind salon experience.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Authenticity, passion, and courage have all led me to where I am today. Being true to myself has allowed me to meet other likeminded individuals and build lifelong connections with my guests. No matter how many times I was told I wasn’t good enough, I never let it dim the passion I have for what I do. Having the courage to stand up for myself and take risks have led me to where I am today.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Owning a business can definitely feel overwhelming at times. My best piece of advice I can give it to make time for yourself. You cannot pour from an empty cup. It is okay to have days off. It is okay to take time away from social media. This industry is all about taking care of others, but you cannot do that if you are not taking care of yourself first. On days where I need to ground myself, I focus on other creative outlets such as painting and aerial arts. I also practice mindfulness by journaling, reading, and spending time outdoors.
