Meet Karl Groeger

We were lucky to catch up with Karl Groeger recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Karl, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I got my work ethic from my father Karl Groeger Sr. He taught us at a young age, if you want something you have to work hard yourself to get it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

My name is Karl Groeger, and I am the owner of Looney Tunes Record Store, a family owned & operated independent record store on Long Island since 1971 that my dad started. I also own Brookvale Records – an independently owned boutique record label in West Babylon, NY specializing in vinyl releases. We produce the highest-quality vinyl available today with some of the greatest artists in the world.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Leadership, knowledge, patience. Do your research. Put your best foot forward. Carve your own path.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

Looney Tunes is 53 years old. Trying to stay current & relevant in 2025 is a constant challenge in a world where music is available digitally at everyone’s fingertips. We’re constantly drumming up ideas & ways to promote the importance of physical music.
