Karla, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I keep my creativity alive by finding new ways to engage my customers. Social media plays a big part with exposure to different apps that assist with content creation. My degree in Visual Communications allows me to market my tea blends, run my online store, and hone in on my design skills.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am the owner Pfortea Loose Leaf Tea Blends. My loose-leaf tea blends are handcrafted with natural ingredients. These blends seduce your taste buds with an entanglement of flavors. I’m known for creating blends that help with the common cold, digestive issues, stress, weight, etc. My blends are full of flavor. You do not need to add sugar.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My design degree and love of technology has helped me create and sustain an online store/community. Having an outgoing personality definitely helps with sales. Most of my business comes from repeat customers who often refer others to my website.
When starting a business, keep an open mind. Make sure you have capital upfront. Be patient with the growth of your business, because the first few years can be a rollercoaster ride. If you take a loss, keep going.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I would love to partner with social media influencers. My goal is to not only have a tea store, but I would love to see my blends in World Market, Trader Joes, HomeGoods, and Whole Foods.
