We recently connected with Karola Raimond and have shared our conversation below.
Karola, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Well first of all I’m a double Capricorn. They can be pretty stubborn I don’t quit. Ever. But I do lose the tight grip on goals/pursuits and believe that if something is meant to be, it will happen, just maybe not in the time frame I would like them to. Similar like when you want to summit a high mountain you are sometimes required to return to base camp for multiple reasons (for example weather conditions or exhaustion) to regroup/recharge before returning to the quest. I remember going through a really challenging time and being very hard on myself. Things were not happening the way I wanted them to even so I was putting in the work. My dad who was an avid mountaineer (summit all the highest mountains in Europe) shared this analogy of climbing a mountain top. It deeply resonated with me. And with time I realized that sometimes instead of pushing harder you have to push less and sometimes it means to take a break. Of course that’s not how we get conditioned in our society. And it’s not about not putting in the work. You have to, but I now see it more as an ebb and flow. We sometimes need to become more liquid and surrender instead of banging our head against the wall to make something happen. We are co-creators with the Universe. We are powerful manifestors, but it’s not only discipline that gets us to the mountain top.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m an artist. I express through creation. I write. I perform. I make films. I love to inspire with my stories and characters, to go deep below the surface. As a storyteller, I’m about female empowerment & the power of transformation. I strongly believe in uplifting and inspiring to create positive change. I’m excited about my role as “Carolyn” in the feature film “The Ghost Trap” that is premiering this year. Also about my guest star on the German TV-Series “X-Factor-Das Unfassbare”. And my writing partner and I are currently taking meetings to produce our psychological thriller and our supernatural-occult limited TV-Show.
But I’m more than that. All my life I’ve been highly intuitive, a Seeker and a Mystic. Especially the past ten years I’ve been on a beautiful spiritual journey. Facing the dark and the light. Meeting different parts of myself. Exploring through Meditation, Kundalini Yoga, Astrology and the Akashic Records. I became a KRI certified kundalini yoga teacher in 2018 and shortly after discovered Astrology and the Akashic Records. Both such powerful tools to understand your own divine soul-blue print. Combining them in readings for myself and others has been incredibly insightful. Experiencing the impact a personal Astrology or Akashic reading can have on someone has been a life changing experience. By understanding ourselves better we realize that the outside world is nearly a mirror of our own inner state of being. Know yourself. Heal yourself. Then create the life you want. We are magnificent co-creators with the cosmic intelligence.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Discipline, creative expression and quest for adventure. And I know I’m adding a forth one here, but “marching to the beat of my own drum” has been essential on this journey as well. I believe to trust yourself and to follow your own intuition is such an imperative. No one else is you, has your exact experiences, lived your life or has your specific blue-print. Embrace your uniqueness, create from the heart, find your authentic voice and don’t let fear of failure hold you back. It’s ok to fall many times before you learn how to fly. I honestly believe that the more we dare to be authentically ourselves the higher we can fly.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My parents never pretended they had life figured out. They never told me “this is how something is period” or “this is what you have to do”. They always stayed curious and open to learning new things themselves. And I remember at times feeling overwhelmed because at an early age they gave me lots of responsibilities to do things on my own and let me make independent decisions. They trusted me that I would be able to do it. Now thinking back I realize that my parents taught me to believe in myself and to know that I can do things on my own without needing the validation of the people around me or society.
